Mr. James Alex Green

GREEN, Mr. James Alex Sr.- age 77, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at Medilodge of Montrose-Montrose, MI. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Bishop Neal Roberson officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Mr. Green will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Mr. James Alex Green, Sr. was born on August 17, 1936 in Gadsden, AL., the son of Alexander and Sallie Victoria Green . James moved to Flint at an early age and has been a resident ever since. James graduated from Flint Northern High School. He worked at Buick and retired after 48 years of service. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He served as a member of the Senior Usher Board, he attended Bible Study and also worked security until his health failed him. His hobbies and interests included a love for golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved to dress and was full of jokes. He was also a painter for more than 20 years, a vendor at the Baptist convention and a proprietor at Jag the Haberdasher. Mr. James Alex Green, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Rose Green; 4 daughters; Eylastine Green (John) Davis, Veronica Green-Jeter, Cora Trusel, Dakia (Maurice) West; 3 sons, James (Chrisele) Green, Jr., Keith (Kendra) Bell, Donavon (Lakesha) Lee; 20 grandchildren, Alexandria Green, Jamierson Green, Jourdin (Krystal) Roberts, Amir (Britney) Hassan, Saadiq Ali, Ashleigh Lewis, Dominique (Vanessa) Mitchell, Paul Powell, Corey Powell, Arielle Bell, Amari Bell, Trent Bell, Keith Bell, Jr., Armani West, Erik (Tina) Wyatt, Tenesha (Randy) Davis, Michelle Lee, India Malone, Nakia Malone, Antonio Bell; 18 great grandchildren; siblings, Clarence (Mary) Green of Flint, Ralph (Diane) Green of Mobile, AL, Alzora Stokes of Flushing, MI; sisters-in-law, Vanessa Moran, Beverly Porter, Freddie Nelson, Loretta (Harold) Thomas; brother-in-law, Tommy (Carolyn) Porter all of Toledo, OH, Alvin (Brenda) Porter of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives including special friends; Mack McCormick, Artis Shackleford, Maryann Stewart and the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church family. Mr. Green was preceded in death by: parents, Alexander and Sallie Victoria Green; brothers, Charles Green and Chester Green; sisters, Alice Hudson, Ida Green; Mother and Father-in-law; uncles, aunts and friend William Stewart.
