CREDIT, Mr. James Alfred - Age 52, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2005 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, June 27, 2005 at Dozier Memorial Christian C.M.E. Church, 3212 S. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Dr. Jessie L. Douglas, Sr., Pastor, Bishop David Maxwell officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Monday. Mr. Credit will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Sunday. Mr. James A. Credit, the third child and eldest son of Chester and Occie R. Credit, was born in Hope, Arkansas on April 15, 1953. He grew up in the Flint community and was baptized at an early age at Dozier Memorial C.M.E. Church. He later united with Christ Temple in Muskegon Heights, MI, where he re-dedicated his life. James who was fondly known as "J.C.," attended Flint Public Schools and was a 1971 graduate of Northern High School, where he played on the football team and participated in the marching band. In 1976 he graduated from Western Michigan University. He was previously employed with General Motors. In 1982, he was united in marriage to Shirley O. Johnson of Muskegon Heights, MI, and to this union 2 sons were born, DeShawn and Charles Dewayne. Mr. James A. Credit leaves to cherish his sweet memories: wife, Shirley O. Credit; sons, DeShawn and Charles Dewayne Credit, all of Muskegon Heights, MI; mother, Occie R. Credit of Flint, MI; 3 sisters, Linda (Leroy) Perkins, Barbara (Van E.) French and Aileen (David) Louis, all of Grand Blanc, MI; brother, Alfonza (Kimberly) Credit, Sr., Sr. of West Bloomfield, MI; 6 aunts, Irene Booth, Dr. Jessie (Charles) Muldrew and Mary L. McFadden of Flint, MI, Nina (J.W.) Miller of Grand Blanc, MI, Eria Hopson of Hope, AR and Ruth Credit of Dallas, TX; 4 uncles, Joseph (Charity) McFadden of Louisville, KY, William (Gerri) McFadden of Flint, MI, Roosevelt (Marie) Credit of Oakland, CA and Leon (Vernon) Credit of Lufkin, TX; mother-in-law, Hattie R. Johnson; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruthie (Tommie) Walters and Gloria Boganey; 2 brothers-in-law, Charles (Lorrie) Johnson, Jr. and Samuel Johnson, all of Muskegon Heights, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including the Dozier Memorial C.M.E. Church family. Mr. James A. Credit was preceded in death by his father, Chester Credit, grandparents, aunts, uncles and father-in-law, Charles Johnson, Sr. We shall miss him, for we all loved him, but God loved him best.
