James Brady

BRADY, Mr. James - Age 78, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009 at Genesys Hospice. Family hour 11AM Friday, June 5, 2009 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Friday. Mr. Brady will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Thursday. Mr. James Brady was born July 30, 1930 in Greenville, Mississippi, the son of Joe Brady, Sr. and Louise Mims Brady. Mr. Brady came to Flint from Greenville, MS. He honorably served in the United States Airforce from 1951 until 1955. Mr. Brady retired from General Motors Fisher Body after 38 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #581. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Brady enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, conversating, and hanging with out with his buddies at McDonald’s on Carpenter Rd. He leaves to cherish his memory: beloved best friend former wife, Mary (Todd) Brady; 5 devoted daughters, Debra and Tracie Brady, Jaleesa Williams, all of Flint, Marilyn Sanders of Caulmet City, IL and Yolanda Marks of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Royce Sanders, Jr. (financee`, Nicole Townsend) and Rosalyn Richardson, all of Calumet City, IL, De’Ja Morris of Houston, TX, Darrius, Deonyus and Skyler Brady, all of Flint, Quateall, Sequoia and Christianna Marks, all of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Isiah, Joshua, Matthew, Royce III, Allison, Eddie and Kemorye`; step-mother, Julia Brady; god-children, Tony Matlock of Bloomington, IL and Jameisha Shelton of Flint; 3 sisters, Catherine Lambert of St. Louis, MO, Linda and Sheila Brady of Greenville, MS; 3 brothers, Joe Brady, Jr. of Flint, Percy and Charles Brady, both of Greenville, MS; nephews, Hezekiah “Rip” Ross of Flint, Jerome Ross of Greenville, MS, Thomas (Cynthia) Brady, Carl Ross, both of Houston, TX, Joseph (LyVonne) Brady of Meridian, MS, Brad Brady of Las Vegas, NV, Ricky, Lavandris, Lavrenti and Antione Lambert, all of St. Louis, MO; nieces, Demetra Lambert of St. Louis, MO, Nina Brown of Las Vegas, NV, Patricia Harrison of Houston, TX, Phyllis Ross, Emma Rutherford, both of St. Louis, MO, Vera Haywood, Shirley and Josey Ross, all of Greenville, MS; former mother-in-law, Alene Williams of Flint; former sister-in-law, Ada Todd of Chicago, IL; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Venita Jones, LuDaniel Walker, Bonnie Mitchell, Nina Poole, Ms. Wickware, Vivian Kelly, Joe Gipson, Fred Bashir, Fred Myles, Verb Jackson, Sharayal Johnson, Doris Williams, Lee Esther Peebles, Lois Dawkins, the Matlock, Woodley, Coleman, Carter and Okraku families, Jackie Richardson, Bonnie Hill, Ed Seargant, Donna Stubbs, and Camelia and Palmetto Drive neighbors. Mr. Brady was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Willie Brady; sister, Ethel Ross; 4 nephews; 1 niece; and many cousins.
