BODDIE, Mr. James D., Jr. -Age 74, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2024, at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Kenneth Brown, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:30 AM Tuesday. Mr. Boddie will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Monday. Mr. James Dwight Boddie Jr. “Buddy Boy” was born December 11, 1949 in Flint, Michigan, the son of James Sr. and Lela G. Boddie. James went to Heaven from his residence in Flint. He attended Flint Community Schools and graduated the “Class of 1968.” James was employed at Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation in Plant 81 as an Electrician for 39 years. He enjoyed family, his poodle, Jazz, a good Chess match or Domino game and nice cars. His smile and laugh was infectious. He will be missed by all. Mr. James Dwight Boddie Jr. “Buddy Boy” leaves to cherish his memory: wife and caregiver, Marketa Boddie; son, Brandon James Ashley; 2 daughters, Paris Simone Boddie, all of Flint and Marci Ashley of Lansing, MI; 2 aunts, Lavada Taylor of Burton, MI and Lois Beason of Florida; niece, Marquilla Boddie; nephew, Mark Boddie II; cousins, Lionel, Phil, Jeanie, Jackie James, David, Gail, Terry Gates, Stevie, Dale Bell and Teresa; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Mr. Ed Wilson Jr.Mr. Boddie was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Lela G. Boddie; grandparents, Leola and Major Vaughn; brother, Mark Boddie; sister, Delores Elaine Boddie; step-mother, Flossie Vaughn; aunts, Catherine Vaughn, Suzie Collins and Emma Boddie; uncles, AG Vaughn, Bruce Vaughn, Albert Vaughn and Clarence Vaughn; cousins, David Green, James Vaughn, Harman and Dale Bell.
