ANDERSON, Mr. James - Age 68, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30PM Friday, February 20, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2PM. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Friday. Mr. Anderson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Thursday. Mr. James Edd Anderson was born January 3, 1941 in Tishomingo, Mississippi, the son of De Ellis and Flossie Mae (Brock) Anderson. James was a graduate of Carter Branch High School in Tishomingo, MS. He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years from 1962-1965. James worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1993. James Anderson was known for his generosity, kindness, and willingness to help others in need. He loved family dinners, playing cards and spending time with family and grandchildren. Mr. James Edd Anderson leaves to cherish his memories: wife of 39 years, Dorothy Anderson of Flint; 2 daughters, Venita (Malcom) Jones of Atlanta, GA and Katina (Kevin) Hall of Columbus, OH; 5 grandchildren, Dennis Powell, Jr. of Flint, Jasmin Jones, Malcolm Jones, Jr. both of Atlanta, GA, Kameran and Dominic Hall both of Columbus, OH; mother, Flossie Mae (Brock) Anderson; 3 sisters, Bettie Thomas of Grand Blanc, MI, Ella (Joe) Bean of Flint and Schantell Anderson of Grand Blanc, MI; 5 brothers, Donald Anderson of Tishomingo, MS, Ellis Anderson of Grand Blanc, MI; Bobby, Billy and Gregory Anderson, all of Flint; 3 aunts, Ruby Mae Southward of Tishomingo, MS, Anezia Fargo of Dallas, TX and Rosie Martin of Florence, AL; uncle, Christopher Anderson of Bloomington, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his father, De Ellis Anderson; grandparents; several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center 7E nurses and 4th floor ICU nurses, Jeff and Mary, Dr. Osama and staff, Dr. Sataar and the staff of Willowbrook Manor.
