ADAMS, Mr. James - Age 86, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 at his residence. Family hour 11:30AM Saturday, January 3, 2009 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Eld. Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment River Rest Cemeter, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:30AM Saturday. Mr. Adams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Friday. Mr. James Adams was born September 22, 1922 in Sheridan, Arkansas to the union of Clyde and Rosa Lee Adams. He was reared in a Christian home and brought up in Baptist Faith. He attended school in Arkansas and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army after 4 years of service. He was employed as a Brick Layer in Pine Bluff, AR. He also was a Liscensed Barber. James retired from General Motors after 31 years of service and from Genesee County after 25 years. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. James will be sadly missed by many people. Mr. James Adams leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife of 65 years, Geneva Adams; 3 children, John L. Adams, Alice Fay Adams-Lincoln both of Flint and John Eric (Sheila) Adams of Kalamazoo, MI; 7 grandchildren, Dennis Delmar Lincoln, Armond Lincoln, Malcolm Banks, Erica Adams, Alexa Adams, Brock Adams and Carter Adams; sister, Nora Williams of Chicago, IL; 2 brothers, Otha Adams of Milwaukee, WI and Leon Adams of Pine Bluff, AR; sisters-in-law, Josephine Adams, Eloise Adams, Orie Wright all of Pine Bluff, AR, Gussie Adams of Birmingham, AL, Bertha Carter of Arlington, TX; brother-in-law, J.D. Clark of Sheridan, AR; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends including, special friends, The Lillian Chandler Family, The Edna Brown Family and the Betty Boone Family. Mr. James Adams was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Asia Lincoln; parents, Clyde and Rosie Lee Adams; 3 sisters, Emeline Hunter (Sheridan, AR), Katie Harper (Memphis, TN) and Mildred Clark (Pine Bluff, AR); 4 brothers, Clyde Adams (Memphis, TN), Bonnie Lee Adams, Robert Adams (Pine Bluff, AR), and Willie Adams of (Milwaukee, WI).
