HASAN, Mr. Jameel (Ronnie Hatter) - Age 69, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral service Monday, November 7, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., Imam Hamin Rasool officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 9:00 AM Monday. Mr. Hasan will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Jameel Rashad Hasan was born January 18, 1947 in Flint, Michigan, the 5th son of Frank and Isabella Hatter. He married his first wife, Jeanella Brown (Hasan), the mother of his first born, Rachelle Hatter (Hasan) and sons Jameel Frank and Ahmad Hasan. Gerlene Hasan his wife for the last 28 years of his life bore him two additional children, Jamaad and Jamillah Hasan. Jameel as a Muslim was a devoted follower of the Islamic religion for nearly 40 years with his unwavering faith in Allah. Jameel was also a devoted “family man,” reserved, soft spoken easy on the eyes and a considerably private individual with a heart of gold. His love was deeply suited nad customized to fit the needs and wants of each of his children. He loved his wife Gerlene unconditionally, as she loved him. He loved his brothers and sisters and family immensely. Coffee time with his brothers were stimulating times. He looked forward to cherished dearly. To the sparkle in his eyes and the tingle in hos toes his grandchildren Jasmine, Elijah, Kareem, NayAme’ his brand new baby girl, and his unborn baby boy whom he will certainly be able to gaze upon from the heavens. Papa loved you more than life itself, and he will unquestionably be with you through the rest of your lives. Jameels professional career was one to marvel, starting at Mott Community College, to becoming a master carpenter by trade, he loved working with his hands and could build just about anything with them. Jameel owned and managed several businesses throughout his life time, including his prized possession Maybury LLC. He spent many years as a champion for the minority associated with the Michigan Dept. of Transportation. His health had begun to fail so he retired as a disabled American Veteran from the Vietnam War, during the transition he joined the Dr. George Washington Carver Leo R. Crow Post #8236 established for veterans of foreign wars, but his career didn’t stop there, after stabilizing his health issues he enjoyed real estate investing with the same vigor and excellence as with everything he did. Mr. Jameel Hasan leaves to cherish is memory: wife, Gerlene Hasan of Flint; children, Jamaad (Felicia) Hasan, Jameel Frank (Jodi) Hasan, and Jamillah Hasan of Las Vegas, NV. Ahmad (Samira) Hasan of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Jasmine, Elijah and NayAme Hasan of Las Vegas, NV. And unborn grandson Karmin Hasan; 2 sisters, Margaret (Alvin) Pollard, and Barbara Perkins of Flint; 6 brothers, James , Henry, Lorenzo ( Mattie) Joseph (Angelina) Raymond (Courtney), Glen (Mae) Hatter, all of Flint and Jeanella Brown (Hasan) and the entire Brown family of Flint; mother-in-law, Catherine Johnson; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty (Sherwood Jr.) Pea, all of Flint, MI, and Earnestine Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO; 2 brothers- in-law, Edward Johnson of Lansing, MI and JD Steward of Flint; special nieces and nephews Monica, Carolyn, Ashley, Marcus, Michael, and Lorenzo. Mr. Hasan was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachelle Dene Hatter; parents, Isabella and Frank Hatter; sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Ragston and Cornelia Steward Perkins; brother-in-law, Thurston. The family would like to express a special thanks to sister-in-law, Barbara Hatter, Aunt Lil Barb for the long nights of prayers and support right by our side. And of course we thank Allah Almighty for our unwavering faith, blessing our lives and his will be done all the days of his life.
