Mrs. Jacqueline Nichols

NICHOLS, Mrs. Jacqueline - age 64, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Bethlehem Temple Church Of The Apostolic Faith, 3401 M.L. King Ave. with memorial service commencing at 12 p.m. Elder Phillip Thompson officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Nichols will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Jacqueline Nichols was born on October 21, 1949 in Flint, Michigan, the eldest daughter of James and Herlen Cummings. Jacqueline gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a graduate of Flint Northwestern High School. Jackie was united in holy matrimony to L.S. Nichols, Jr. in 1968. She was last employed with Genesee Packaging and retired shortly after. Jackie loved to grow flowers and being around her family. She was a confidant, loved going to church and bible study, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nichols leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Tamara LiKita Nichols; 2 sons, Terrance Ohenry (Tasha) Nichols and Michael Maurice (Marcy) Nichols; grandchildren, Michael (LaKesha) Ogburn, Jr., LiKita Alford, Maurice Alford, Jr., Quosheem Robinson, Antonio Avery, Makaya Nichols and Mariah Nichols; great-grandchildren, Michael Ogburn III, Misha Ogburn, and Kemarion Hodo; parents, James and Herlen Cummings; 4 sisters, Ettica Jean Buyck, Violet (Ivy) LeGardye, Trenace and Patricia Cummings; 3 brothers, James A. Cummings, Jr., Marcus (Deborah) Cummings and Delano Cummings; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends Precious Cockran, Diane Flowers, Tyrone Patton and David Williams. Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by: her husband, L.S. Nichols, Jr.; mother, Herlen Cummings; father, James Cummings; sister, Deborah Cummings; brother, Merieth Cummings; nephew, Ivy Lewis Legardy II; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
