Mr. J.W. Branch

BRANCH, Mr. J.W. - Age 82, passed away Sunday, April 12,2020 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Grace Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, G-1050 Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Rev. Dr. Dennis Powell, officiating. Friends and family will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Branch will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mr. J.W. Branch was born December 14, 1937 in Belzoni, Mississippi, the son of George and Ethel Branch. J.W. was a resident of Flint, Michigan and a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in the yard and teaching his grandchildren how to work on cars. J.W. was the eldest of 5 children. He completed the 12th grade in High School and served in the United States Air Force from April 15, 1955 thru March 30, 1963. He met the love of his life, Lottie M. Moore, whom he married on Easter Sunday, April 29, 1959. J.W. departed this life on Easter Sunday, the day of his 60th Wedding Anniversary. Mr. J.W. Branch leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife of 60 years, Lottie M. Branch; 4 daughters, Cam Burns, Vicki Keith Powell, Shelia Lowery and Jvon; son, George White; granddaughter, Osha-Love Lowery; 9 grandsons, Damon S. Keith (Jamese), Jason Burns (Erica & Morgan), Marcus Thompson, Cameron Burns (Shannon), Rashad Thompson (Jalisa), Jorden Lowery (Laqunta), John De Paul Burns, Steven Thompson and Eric Shaw; sister, Katherine Clay of Jackson, MS; great-grandchildren, Jai Christian, Svaja Simone, Camri Kh’mari, Jadyn Ryan Burns and Jaqual Lowery; a host of special nieces and nephews including nieces, Yolanda & Rosalind Clay of Gary, IN and nephew, Willie Charles Clay Jr., of Jackson, MS; aunt, Ellen Hays; a host of cousins near and far; 3 sisters-in-law; 1 brother-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Branch was preceded in death by his grandson, great-granddaughter, mother, father, sister and 2 brothers. The family would like to express special thanks to his coffee buddies, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church family, Billy and Robert Hines, Grace Tabernacle Church family, Providence Missionary Baptist Church family, McLaren-Flint doctors and nurses, God brother, Willie Turner & Family, play sister, Katherine Thomas and family, Sara Kitchen and family, all of Flint. A big thank you to those called, sent letters and cards for this time of sorrow. We thank you neighbors and friends.
