McPHERSON, Mrs. Ivy - Age 53, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. McPherson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Ivy McPherson was born March 7, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Willie and Hattie McPherson. Ivy was a resident of Flint, where she was a homemaker. She graduated from Northwestern High School. Ivy enjoyed playing cards, bingo and going to the casino. Most of all she loved driving up and down I-75. She leaves to cherish her memory: former husband, Robert Gardner of Flint; 2 sons, Mario (Nicole) McPherson and Rayquon Gardner; stepson, Robert “Kool Aid” Hammond, all of Flint; godson, Shawain Terrell Callaway of Tennessee; grandchildren, Rayquon Jarvott Gardner, Jr. and Mario Nehemiah McPherson II; 3 sisters, Wendy McPherson of Flint, Gloria McPherson of Texas and Renee Redus of Alabama; brother, Stephan (Tanya) McPherson of Tennessee; 4 nieces, Jasmin “Jazzy” McPherson, Shavonne McPherson, Keyosha Harden, all of Flint and Tamara Jeffery of Texas; 7 nephews, Manny McPherson, Stephan McPherson, Jr., Elston Wright, Jr., Harvey Harden, Jr., Willie Harden, Tramane and Trvazes Jeffery of Texas; 2 aunts, Helen Lawler and Lilly Stallings of Flint; 2 uncles, Robert (Gloria) McIntyre, Sr. and Johnny McIntyre; 2 sisters-in-law, Karen “K.P.” Hammond and Wanda Hammond, both of Flint; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Sheryl Robinson, Kristine Jackson, Lorraine Spicer and Karen “K.P.” Hammond. Mrs. McPherson was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Hattie (McIntyre) McPherson; brother, Anthony McPherson; grandparents, McIntyre and McPherson; aunt, Pastor Dora Huddleston; uncle, Harold McIntyre; cousins, Arlene Huddleston, Mark Huddleston and Sharnese Douglas. The family would like to express special thanks to niece, Jasmin “Jazzy” McPherson, the Jackson family, McLaren Regional Medical Center, Brian’s House staff, Shavonne McPherson, Nicole Berry and Sherrod Jackson.
