COHEN, Mr. Isaac - Age 89, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, November 28, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Monday. Mr. Cohen will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday, with the family present from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Isaac Cornilous “Ike” Cohen was born February 10, 1927, in Conway, Arkansas, the son of Fred and Grace (Wooten) Cohen. “Ike” attended Public Schools and graduated from Oak Grove High School in Conway, Arkansas. He married Estella Richardson, and to this union four children were born. His family later moved to Flint, Michigan where he started his employment at Service parts Operations, a division of General Motors in Swartz Creek, MI, where he retired after 42 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. “Ike” loved watching the daily news, the Detroit Pistons, the Detroit Tigers and working his crossword puzzles. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ike made his transition peacefully and will truly be missed by all of his loved ones. Mr. Isaac Cornilous “Ike” Cohen leaves to cherish his precious memories and stay in God’s care: daughters, Leatter Cohen of Detroit, MI, Mary Ann Cohen of Inglewood, CA and Margaret (Arthur) Adair of Townsend, Delaware; sons, Ronald Cohen of Carson, CA, Terry Cohen of Los Angeles, CA, Duquan Cohen of Flint and Skyler Cohen of Virginia; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; soul surviving sister, Eartha Dilworth; 6 special nieces; 3 special nephews; a host of other relatives and special friends including, his loving and supportive neighbors, Minnie Mastin, Roy Fields and neighbors on Brownell Blvd., his Breakfast Club friends at McDonald’s on Clio Road, Luscious Rice Virgil Spears and Bobby T. Mr. Cohen was preceded in death by his son, Richard Wayne Cohen; parents, Fred and Grace (Wooten) Cohen; brothers, twin brother Isiah and Rudolph Cohen; brother-in-law, Fred Dilworth; and nephew, Larry Dilworth. The family would like to express special thanks to his Heart to Heart Hospice nurses, Roberta and Amanda; Social Worker, Mary; and his caregiver Sheila for their grateful dedication in Ike’s care and well being.
