COLLINS, Mr. Ira J. "Uncle Bo"- Age 88, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 16, 2006 at his residence. Rose of Sharon Lodge #4 AF & AM ceremony will be held on Monday, March 20, 2006 from 6PM-7PM at the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Family hour will be 10:30AM Tuesday, March 21, 2006 from the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw. Funeral services will begin at 11AM. After which he will be taken to Smalley?s Funeral Home, 610 Martin Luther King Ave., Vidalia, Georgia, 30474, (912) 537-4744. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday March 25, 2006 from St. Mary?s Baptist Church, Pastor Sylvester Roundtree officiating. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ailey, GA. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10:30AM. Mr. Collins now lies in state in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Monday. Mr. Ira J. (Uncle Bo) Collins was born May 14, 1917 in Ailey, Georgia. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira J. and Susie (Perry) Collins. He was baptized in Ailey, GA. After serving in World War II he was united in Holy Matrimony to Rosetta Wiggins in 1945. Mr. Collins retired from Buick Local 599 in 1978 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Rose of Sharon Lodge #4 AF & AM. He went back to school and received his High School Diploma in 1995 at the age of 78. He graduated with honors. He enjoyed swimming everyday, driving his tractor, gardening, working on his houses and he loved his family. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife of 60 years, Rosetta; 3 daughters, Bernice McNeal, Sweetie Vickers both of Flint, and Susie Virginia Chaney of Miami, FL; son, Joseph Coney; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildern; 3 sisters, Helen Wright of Vidalia, GA, Vandella Cooper of Jacksonville, FL, and Ruby Gray of Miami, FL; special brother-in-law, Rufus (Eileen) Wiggins of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including special nephew, Robert E. Lee Jr., special niece, Alberta Lee and Sylvonia Johnson; special friends, Hamilton Verdun, W.C. Lane, Harold and Velma Harris of Lake City, MI; and caregivers, Jackie Barfield, Angela and Leora Campbell, Tissy, Roya, Aaron, Fred and Cory, Tekey and Allen and Warren Southall, Jr. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by parents; sisters and brother-in-laws, LeBerta Collins, Maggie (Dennis) McClain, Ida Bell (Herman) Byrd, Chessie (Robert) Lee, Jerry (Bitha) Wiggins, Sylvester (Rosetta) Wiggins.
