WILLIAMS, Mrs. Inez - Age 90, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor DeQuan Ford., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Monday, May 12, 2025 from 12:00PM - 6:00 PM. Mrs. Inez Williams was born March 26, 1935 in Farmville (Pitts County), North Carolina the daughter of the late Daisy Phillips and George Phillips. Inez was raised in Farmville, North Carolina where she along with her siblings, Beatrice, Esther, George Jr., Morris and Eddie. In 1955, Inez and Henry were married in North Carolina, Henry relocated to Flint for a better life for them. He then sent for Inez in 1956. Together they raised six wonderful children, Eunice, Patrick, Linda, Morris, Angie and James. Later, Inez and Henry were blessed to have grandchildren. In addition to her career as a wife and mother, Inez spent her spare time fishing and caring for her family. She loved to fish, cook, watch tv shows, loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and went to church on regular basis until she couldn’t walk anymore. Mrs. Inez Williams leaves to cherish her memory: children, Eunice (Arthur) Whitner, Linda Darby, Angie Williams and James Williams; grandchildren, Kiyana, Martzell, Jacquetta (James) Thomas, Tameka, Melvin, Dez, Jessica, Patricia, Awan, Randall, Marquisha, Inez (Mike) Hammon, Natasha “NeNe” Clarence Jr and Shawn; twenty-five great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; brother, Eddie Bynum of Farmville, NC a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins, sister-in-law, Mary Wilson; brother-in-law, Ephraim (Mona) Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, MaryAnn Hobson, Earlene Jackson, Earlene and Johnny, Sheri Logan, Frank and Tami Johnson all of Flint, MI. Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy and George Phillips; husband, Henry Williams; children, Clarence, Patrick and Morris; siblings, Esther Ree Dixon, Beatrice, George, Morris Phillips; grandchild, Kiyana; great grandchild, Marshawn III; brother-in-law, James Wilson; son-in-law, James Darby. The family would like to express special thanks to The Care Team Hospice, Rebecca (Nurse Aide), Amanda Hubbard, Jamie and to all that called, brought food and came by. Special thanks also goes to MeMe, Jamilya Whitner, Shalonda “Bug” Scroggins.
