BRYANT, Ms. Ida M. - Age 60, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at her residence. Family hour and viewing 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. , with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor John McKenney, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Wednesday. Ms. Bryant will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. Public viewing will be held only during the family hour. Ms. Ida Marcia Bryant, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, was born November 2, 1958, the daughter of the late Mr. Charlie Sr. and Rozella (Johnson) Bryant. Ida received her education from the Atlanta Public School System and the Flint Community School System. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1977.” After graduating high school, she joined the Job Corps where she received training as a Welder. Ida completed her training and moved to Bronx, NY, where she was employed by a welding company who contracted for the City of New York and various companies and municipalities. In later years, Ida developed arthritis causing her to take Disability Retirement after working as a Welder for twenty years. She moved to Brooklyn, NY. Ida loved to travel and lived briefly in Mesa, AZ and Apple Valley, CA, before returning home to Decatur, GA in May of 2012. Ida moved back to Flint, MI in 2018 to assist her sister, Brenda who was experiencing health problems. Ida loved her family, church, community and everyone that came into her life. She provided assistance and support to her family and friends. Ida would help anyone who needed her. She enjoyed being outdoors and she loved fishing. Ida took great joy in helping to arrange family gatherings. Ida was introduced to the Lord at an early age, she attended church every where she lived. While living in Flint, she attended New Life Ministries, under the leadership of Pastor John McKenney, with her sister, Elsie. Ida joined the church and was baptized in May of this year. She lived a full and vibrant life and touched the lives of many. Ms. Ida Marcia Bryant leaves to cherish her memory: 5 sisters, Brenda A. Grayson of Flint, Roberta (David) Allen, Mozella Bryant, all of Decatur, GA, Elsie L. Bryant and Yvonne Bryant, both of Flint; brother, Fletcher (Marty) Bryant of Loganville, GA; aunt, Mrs. Mattie M. Cotton of Atlanta, GA; 7 nieces; 9 nephews; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends from, Flint, MI, Manchester, GA, Newark, NJ and Detroit, MI. Ms. Bryant was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Sr. and Rozella Bryant; sister, Malinda Mosley; brother, Charlie Bryant Jr.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
