MCGUIRE, Mr. Hugh Brian - Age 51, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Hurley Medical Center. Family Hour 10:30 AM Saturday January 23, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mr. McGuire will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, may be viewed 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday January 22, 2021. Mr. Hugh Brian McGuire was born January 7, 1970 in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Hugh Grant Curry and Earlene McGuire. Hugh went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2021. He accepted Christ at an early age at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle. Hugh graduated from Flint Northern High School and was employed at Mehra Tube of Holly, MI for several years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and son. Hugh enjoyed spending time with family and friends at family gatherings, listening to music, dancing and watching sports. Mr. Hugh Brian McGuire leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Deborah McGuire; daughter, Ja’Nae McGuire, both of Flint; 4 god-children, Marshayla Malone, Daquan Westbrook, Darnell Westbrook and Malachi Westbrook; mother, Earlene McGuire of Flint; sister, Sheri Curry of Cleveland, OH; 2 brothers, Lige Curry of San Diego, CA and Erick (Joanette) Curry of Cleveland, OH; 3 nieces, Shanika Roberts of Clermont, FL, Jasmyne Curry and Victoria Harris, both of Cleveland, OH; 5 nephews, Anton Roberts, Maliek Roberts, both of Clermont, FL, Laterrian Roberts, Omari Roberts, both of Burton, MI and Erick Curry Jr. of Cleveland, OH; 8 aunts, Augustine (Randell) Welch, Brenette (Bobby) Coleman, all of Flint, Yvette Mercer, Evelyn (Derrick) Ballard, Dessie Woods, all of Tennessee, Tommie Lu McKinnie of Antioch, TN, Williebee Springfield of Tennessee and Fay McKinnie of Saginaw, MI; 7 uncles, Willie (Louise) McKinnie of Saginaw, MI, Jerry McKinnie of Whiteville, TN, Carl (Betty) Jones of Antioch, TN, Udell (Patricia) Jones, Worley (Debra) Jones, all of Whiteville, TN, Lewis (Shawn) Jones of Jackson, TN and Calvin (Rene) Jones of Antioch, TN; father-in-law, Nelson Roberts Jr.; 2 sisters-in-law, Brenda Roberts of Burton, MI and Sandra Roberts of Clermont, FL; a host of other relatives and friends including, Courtney Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Herman Shaw, Carlester Shaw and life-time friends, Marcellius Malone and Darnell Westbrook. Mr. McGuire was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Curry; grandparents, Annie Curry (Robert) Hooks, Mattie Sue and Tom Jones; aunts, Shirley Galloway, Rose McKinney, Janice Parker and Bessie (Richard) Joyner; uncles, Herbert McGuire and Hershel Roberts; mother-in-law, Dian Roberts; sister-in-law, Denise Johnson.
