SIMPSON, Mr. Howard Wayne- Age 56, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 at Heartland Hospice. Family hour 10AM Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Metropolitan Tabernacle, 930 E. Myrtle, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Rev. Floyd Fuller officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Tuesday. Mr. Simpson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Mr. Howard Wayne Simpson was born May 9, 1952 in Flint, MI, the son of Howard and Rebecca Simpson. He graduated in 1970 from Flint Northern High School. Howard attended Ferris State University. After working 34 years for Flint Delphi as a Senior Auditor he retired on November 1, 2007. He loved doing home improvement, helping his family, fishing, gardening, cooking on his grill, traveling, planting roses, spending time with his daughters and granddaughters. Howard had a great sense of humor. He was baptized at an early age at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle. Mr. Simpson leaves to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Diana Marie and Kimberly Michelle Simpson both of Flint; mother of his children, Linda Simpson; grandchildren, Desire’ and Faith Simpson; mother, Rebecca Simpson; 2 sisters, Gloria J. Long all of Flint and Barbara E. (Tyrone) Sanders of Mt. Morris Twp; niece, Therasa (Kenneth) Martin of Flint Twp; great niece, MaKaLah Martin; 3 nephews, Erick Long, Nathan and Trent Sanders both of Flint; 2 great nephews, Erick Long, Jr. and Paden Martin all of Flint; 3 aunts, Sarah Simpson of Grand Blanc, Florence Simpson of Mt. Morris Twp., and Waheedah Al-Amin of Milwaukee, WS; uncle, Ayyub Al-Amin of Milwaukee, WS; many cousins; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Kathy Green, Steve Johnson, Pat Savage, Phyllis Clayton, Mr. & Mrs. Pearson, Richard Hughey, and all his friends from Flint Delphi East. Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his father, Howard Simpson; grandparents; several uncles, aunts and cousins. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Dismond E.
