Hosea Sanders

SANDERS, Mr. Hosea - Age 87, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at Hurly Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Sanders will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Hosea Sanders was born January 25, 1923 in Lundell, Arkansas, the son of Mr. Samuel Sanders and Roberta Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a resident of Flint, Michigan for over 50 years. He was an Honorably Discharged Veteran of World War II. Mr. Sanders married Ms. Fannie Harris, April 12, 1953. He worked faithfully as a Laundry Supervisor at Hurley Medical Center, retiring after 20 years of service. He was also a faithful member of the Willing Workers. Mr. Sanders loved fishing night and day, sitting on the porch and going to church. Most of all he loved watching over is wife, taking care of her and making sure she didn’t want for nothing. He loved him some Aunt Fannie. Mr. Hosea Sanders leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife of 57 years, Fannie Sanders; sister, VerLee Sanders; 4 brothers, L. C. (Yolanda) Sanders, Arthur (Carolyn) Sanders, Samuel (Judean) Sanders and Lewis (Myrtle) Smith; sisters-in-law, Dodsie Erwin, Ora Jones, Dorothy, Ann and Barbara Sanders and Maudine; brothers-in-law, Charles Chester and Wesley Harris; special godchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Gail Little; god granddaughter, Shanta Little; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clearthus, T.C. and Edwin Sanders; 6 nephews, Nathaniel Morris, Roosevelt McDaniel, Hurlee Sanders, L.C. Gamble, Sammie Sanders and Scott Meeks; and sister-in-law, Evon Sanders. The family would like to express special thanks to Shirley Sanders, Willie Goldsmith, Bertha Meeks, Gail Little and caregiver and staff at McLaren Regional Medical Center, Hurley Medical Center and Kith Haven Nursing Home.
