Mr. Henry Lee Williams Jr.

WILLIAMS JR., Mr. Henry Lee - Age 58, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Bedford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Monday. Mr. Williams Jr. will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Henry Lee Williams Jr. was born on July 31, 1956 in Camden, Arkansas the son of the late Henry Williams Sr. and Olla Matthews. He came to Flint in 1957 and has been a resident since. He attended Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and was on the Usher Board and a part of the Men’s Ministry. Henry graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1974 and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1974 where he proudly served his country for several years and earned several medals before being honorably discharged. He worked for General Motors for 20 years. Henry was a “VERY REAL” person who was genuine with his love for his family, especially his children. He loved spending time with his family and friends, gardening, fishing, telling jokes, dressing, cooking and eating. He was a loving person who will be greatly missed by many. Henry made the heavenly transition on Friday, April 17, 2015, he is gone too soon, but will never be forgotten. He leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Kisha (Charles) Taylor, Adria Williams, Ja’Quinna Williams all of Flint, MI, Nakita Brackett of Arizona; step-daughters, Kisma Shumpert of Flint, MI, and Shoy Singleton of Sterling Heights, MI; sons; Mario (Jameca) Singleton, Henry Williams III, both of Flint, MI, Keyonta Williams of Atlanta, GA, Adrian (Kakiela) Williams of Decatur Illinois; step-son, Marcus Hopkins, of Flint, MI; 22 grandchildren; mother, Olla Matthews; special father, Bobbie Gilbert; sisters, Jewel Williams of Flint, MI and Bobbie (Greg) Gilbert of Sacramento, CA; brothers, Lee Williams of Flint, MI and Matthew (Rhonda) Williams, of Columbus, GA; uncles, Lovie (Joyce) Lamar of Flint, MI, Burley (Theresa) Lamar of Saginaw, MI, John (Geneva) Wheeler of Milwaukee, WI; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including special nephews, Landry Williams and Jamez Cobb; Special friends, Ms. Shoop, Glen, Rick and Melvin; Special Lady Friend, Kim. Henry was preceded in death by: Wife Bertha Williams; father, Henry Williams Sr.; grandmother, Azzie Lamar; sister, Daphne Gilbert; niece, JaQuia Giles; and aunt, Darlene Strickland.
