JOHNSON, Ms. Helen Marie - Age 63, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 11:00 AM Friday, October 14, 2016 at Victorious Believers Ministries COGIC, 624 S. Outer Drive, Saginaw, MI, with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Pastor Christopher V. Pryor officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., Flint, MI, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday, with family present from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Ms. Helen Marie Johnson was born October 12, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert and Maudine Johnson. She was one of twelve children. Growing up Helen had an infectious smile. She brought joy, laughter, love and generosity to everyone around her. Helen graduated from Flint Central High School, “Class of 1971.” Shortly after high school, she began working for General Motors where she retired after 31 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659. She was also a past member of Oman Court 132. Helen enjoyed volunteering for the Old Newsboys, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and President Obama’s political campaigns. She was a member of Victorious Believers Ministries Church Of God In Christ, where she graciously served on the Usher Board. Helen was proud and humbled to receive Usher of the Year in 2007. Helen enjoyed baking cakes and cookies, dancing, art, sewing, writing and listening to Jazz. She was very imaginative and creative. Helen was also known for her pranks, short stories, poems and special songs. She had a zest for life and loved helping others. She enjoyed giving motivational talks to many of the children in the family before special events. Most of all Helen enjoyed being with her family. She loved being a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Helen will always be in our hearts, never to be forgotten. Ms. Helen Marie Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Shuntai Beaugard of Flint; step-children, TiaJuana Raspberry and Lisa (Mychal) Covington; grandchildren, Richard Beaugard of Kansas City, MO, Xavier Smith of Lansing, MI and Major Beaugard of Flint; 3 sisters, Violet Smith, Cecelia (Kevin) Mize and Latonia Johnson; 5 brothers, Robert (Ricky) Johnson, James Johnson, Charles Johnson, Larry Johnson, and Kenneth Johnson; 8 nieces, Kimberly Vaughn, LaTosha Harris, LaShunda (John) Edmonds, Carlottta Smith, Tieara Johnson, Quanna Johnson, Scottasia Mize, and Brittany Johnson; 7 nephews, Jermain Johnson, Ladale Johnson, Charles Johnson, Andre Johnson, Kevin (Briann) Mize, Armonde Johnson and Breon Johnson; aunt, Fannie Montgomery of Fort Worth, TX; uncle, Theodore Johnson of Flint; a host of great nieces, great nephews other relatives and friends including special friends, Fred Raspberry and Phillip Walker. Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by, father, Robert Johnson; mother, Maudine Johnson; sister, Carol Ann Johnson; brothers, Richard Johnson and Scotty Johnson.
