Mrs. Helen Fulgham

FULGHAM, Mrs. Helen - Age 75, went home to glory, Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 1215 E. Downey St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Morris Collins, Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Fulgham will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12noon-8 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Helen Ruth Fulgham was born in Ethelsville, Alabama, June 6, 1939 to Luke and Willie Lee Legrone. She was the eldest of eight children. Helen attended Pickens County High School. In 1959, she married Willie Joe Fulgham. Helen and Willie with their three children relocated to Flint, Michigan from Alabama in 1966. Helen was employed at Hurley Medical Center and General Motors until her retirement in the late 90’s. She was a life-long member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church and loved her church family and so missed attending when she became sick. She loved planting flowers and always had a beautiful garden. Helen also loved watching pro basketball games on television with her husband. Helen leaves to cherish her husband of 55 years, Willie Joe Fulgham; three children, Gloria Kelly, Curtis Fulgham, both of Flint and Curlie (Arleatha) Fulgham of Decatur, GA; 4 grandchildren, Julius Hitchye, Jr. of Kansas City, MO, Delon (Kelsie) Fulgham of Raleigh, NC, Stanay Kelly of Davison, MI and Samauria Kelly of Flint; 4 great grandchildren, Zaniyah and Demarr Fulgham of Raleigh, NC, Braylen and Breon Watson of Davison, MI; sisters, Shirley Latham, Roslyn Guyton, both of Ethelsville, AL, Maggie Moten of Columbus, MS and Valerie (Frank) Weaver, all of Columbus, MS; brothers, Don (Norma Jean) Legrone of Flint and Preston (Lillie) Legrone of Kansas City, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friend, Florence Clark. Mrs. Fulgham was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Willie Lee Legrone; and brother, Bennie Legrone. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Morris Collins, Sr. and the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church family and to our dad, Willie Fulgham whom selfishly took care of our mother until the end and to Grace Evans for all her help.
