JONES (Towner), Mrs. Hazel - Age 54, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Eld. Alvin Eubanks, Sr., officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Tuesday. Mrs. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Mrs. Hazel (Towner) Jones was born September 14, 1952 in Pineville, Louisiana, the daughter of Reasie Boyette and Jethroe Towner. Hazel was a resident of Flint, Michigan and a member of Church of Jesus Christ. She attended Mott Community College receiving a Registered Nurse degree and was a private care nurse. Hazel loved her family, reading, fishing and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She had a very big heart. Hazel also loved listening to her gospel music. She was a great listener and could help solve any problem. Mrs. Hazel Jean Jones leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Wendell Jones; 4 daughters, Caprela Towner, Chereathe (Elvin) Hollinger, Jessena (Larry) Neely, all of Flint and Hazel (Orlando) Owens of LA; 4 sons, Henry III, Laqistis, Stacy and Shantae Jones, all of Flint; 30 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Evangelist Bertha Eubanks, Swearl Towner and Walean Boyette, all of Flint; 3 brothers, Lee (Lucinda) Towner of Gulfport, MS, Billy and Theodore Towner; uncle, Garland Boyette, Sr., of Houston, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special cousin, Nelson Stewart of Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Reasie Boyette and Jethroe Towner; grandchildren, Tia and Gia Sisco, Xavier Jones and Destiny Neely. The family would like to express special thanks to nurse Betty CCU Hurley Medical Center, Elder Alvin Eubanks, Sr. and the staff of Northern High School.
