Hazel Ealey

EALEY, Mrs. Hazel Mae - Age 65, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Family hour 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 1 p.m., Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Ealey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Friday. Mrs.Hazel gave her life to Christ at an early age, and became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Kiblah, Arkansas at the age of nine. Shortly after, at the age of 15 years, she moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan to attend school and later became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While living in Grand Rapids, Hazel worked several jobs, but the one she enjoyed the most was working for Sheldon School. Some of the things she enjoyed were playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hazel Mae Ealey leaves to cherish many memories: two daughters, Anita Faye and Fiesta Ealey; son, William Edward Ealey (Rhonda White), all of Grand Rapids, MI; six grandchildren, Nathaniel Lamont Ealey (Danielle) of Marietta, GA, Kevin Eugene Martin, Jr. (LeKendra), Tocara Neshana Rashawna White- Means (Jamond), Nikia Lashae White, Derrick Anthony Dwayne Brown and Jamika Enjonae White, all of Grand Rapids, MI; 16 great-grandchildren; mother, Willie Lee Nelson; two sisters, Christine (Lonnie) Stewart and Bobbie (Gilbert) Trahan, both of Shreveport, LA; brother, Timothy Henderson of Husston, LA; two special aunts, Gussie McKnight and Rosie Anderson; uncle, Robert; two special cousins, Florene Pue of Grand Rapids, MI and Wilmer Ford of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Mrs. Smith, Mary Buckley, both of Grand Rapids, Helen Freeman, and Mr. and Mrs. James McClain. Mrs. Ealey was preceded in death by her daughter, Caroline Denise Ealey; twin great-granddaughters, Shamontie and Sequoiya Ealey; and father, Edward Ealey. The family would like to express special thanks to the Nelson Family of Flint, Pastor Lewis Randolph and the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
