Mrs. Hattie B. Harvey

HARVEY, Mrs. Hattie B. - Age 91, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, 2020 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Harvey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Mother Hattie Bell Harvey was born January 3, 1925 in Enfield, North Carolina to Boree and Lillian Johnson. Hattie united in marriage to Lee Willie Harvey, Sr. in 1944. They had 12 children. The family moved to Flint, Michigan in June 1969. Hattie was a homemaker who loved standing by her husband’s side and taking care of their children. She was a strong woman who held the family together. Hattie taught her children to respect others and they would be respected in return. Hattie was loved for her feisty and blunt tone when she wanted to get a point across. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing by hand, watching soap operas and western television shows. Mother Hattie Harvey is a Charter Member of The Vessels of God Ministries. She served faithfully as the Vessels of God Ministries Eldest Mother and choir member. One of the songs that she cherished was “This Little Light of Mine.” Mother Harvey also served on the Mother Board at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. She loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and prayed that all of her family would get to know him. Mother Hattie Bell Harvey departed this life for her heavenly home on January 15, 2016 leaving behind to cherish her memory 4 daughters: Alma Hardy, Easter (Rev. Earnest) Ford, Belinda (Dea. James) Smith and Carolyn (Timothy) Bell. Son, Pastor Melton (Geneva) Harvey, daughter in law, Vera Harvey, 37 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mother Harvey was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Willie Harvey, daughters, Hazel Yearby, Joyce Thomas, Izetta Harvey, sons Lee Willie Harvey Jr. and Edward Harvey. The family would like to thank Amber and Cindy and of Hartland Hospice for the care they provided to Mother Harvey.
