YOUNG, Mr. Harvey Dan, Jr. "Danny" - Age 50, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour Saturday, April 25, 2009 at El-Bethel Evangelistic Missionary Baptist Church, G-5171 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Danyiel Griffin officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. Mr. Young will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mr. Harvey “Danny” Young was born August 13, 1958 in Buffalo, New York to the late Harvey and Musie Young, Sr. He attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Buffalo, NY, where he accepted Christ at an early age. Harvey attended school in Buffalo, NY, where he graduated from Emerson School Vocational High School with a degree in welding. He then went on to attend Lincoln Welding Technical School. Harvey enjoyed building model railroads and playing golf. He was a very loving and caring person. He would always put the needs of others before his own. Harvey worked for Niagara Machine and Tools in Buffalo, NY as a Welder for several years before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta he worked as a draftman, until his relocation to Flint. Harvey served faithfully as an employee at Marathon Oil until his health began to fail in 2008. He was a man of strong conviction. Mr. Harvey D. “Danny” Young leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Jamie Young; son, Jamar Young, both of W. Palm Beach, FL; 2 stepchildren, Nicole Jones and Julies Towers, both of Flint; 2 grandchildren, Tatyanna and Emmanuel Morgan, both of W. Palm Beach, FL; 2 brothers, Gary Young, Sr. of Eatonton, GA and Harvey J. Young of Coaling, AL; 3 nieces, Sharne Young of Buffalo, NY, Ashley Cobbs and Akila Young; nephew, Gary Young, Jr., all of Eatonton, GA; 6 aunts, Gussie Brown of Scottdale, GA, Lois Farley of Atlanta, GA, Marrie Belle Daniels of Eatonton, GA, Annie Bonner of Atlanta, GA, Berta Mae Farley of Atlanta, GA, Barbara Clemons of Flovilla, GA; 2 great-aunts, Aquilla Thompkns of Eatonton, GA and Carrie Dawkins of Hickory, NC; sister-in-law, Mrs. Pamela Young; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Mr. Young was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Young; and parents, Harvey D. Young, Sr., and Musie L. Young.
