TYLER, Mrs. Harthena E. "Sue" - Age 62, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009 at her residence with her family by her side. Family hour 10AM Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Full Gospel Christian Church, 5901 M.L. King Ave., with Celebration of Life Service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Napoleon Tyler officiating. Pastor James L. Wheeler, Sr., host pastor. Friends and family will assemble at the church 10AM Saturday. Mrs. Tyler will lie in state in the Sanctuary of True Temple of God Ministries, 1802 Utah St., and may be viewed from 1PM-7PM Friday at True Temple of God Ministries. Mrs. Harthena Elizabeth Tyler “Sue” was born in Mounds Illinois, the daughter of Mrs. Cora Lee Younger White and Sheffield Younger. Harthena was raised in Peoria, Illinois, where she met and married Napoleon Tyler Jr. To this union came 11 children. Harthena and her husband moved their family to Flint, Michigan in 1969, where she was employed with General Motors Local 599, retiring with 33 years of service. Harthena devoted her life to her husband and children, all while being a mom to many others. She accepted Christ at an early age and instilled love to everyone she encountered. Mrs. Harthena Elizabeth "Sue" Tyler leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 43 years, Napoleon Tyler Jr.; 4 daughters, Angela (Tony) Jones, Kimberly (Venico) Harris, Mona (Thomas) Brown and Elizabeth Tyler; 2 step daughters, Crystal Tyler, all of Flint, and Kathy Kirby of Nashville TN; 5 sons, Pastor Napoleon (Verdia) Tyler III, Pastor Mark (Angela) Tyler, Christopher Smith, Michael Julian, and Cornelius Tyler, all of Flint; a nephew she took in as her son, Devoon Tyler; 24 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, all of Flint; mother, Mrs. Cora Lee Younger-White; 2 sisters, Pamela Younger of Flint and Charlotte Younger of Peoria, IL; 4 brothers, Theodore Younger, Shaundell Younger, both of Peoria, IL, Sheffield Younger of Chicago Illinois and Charles Younger of Kyles, TX; sisters in law, Bertha Simmons of Flint and Doris Tyler; 2 brothers-in-law, Pastor Levi Tyler, both of Romulus, MI, Henry (Autumn) Tyler and Clarence Tyler, all of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tyler was preceded in death by her father, Sheffield Younger and biological father, Curtis Butler; grandson, Marquan Smith; sister, Patricia Michelle Younger; 2 brothers, Winifred and Lathum Younger; nieces, Sonya Tyler and Harthena Johnson; mother-in-law, Bennie Mae Williams; sisters-in-law, Shawn Younger and Barbara Jean Tyler; and brothers-in-law, James Tyler and General Tyler. The family would like to express a heart warming thanks to Avalon Hospice and Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital.
