MURRAY, Mr. Harold W. - Age 70, passed Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, January 30, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Stanley U. Sims officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Tuesday. Mr. Murray will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. Mr. Harold W. Murray was born March 6, 1936 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Theodore and Anna Murray. Mr. Murray was educated in the Topeka, Kansas School system. He served in the Army from December 1956 to February 1959. Mr. Murray retired from Chevrolet Engine Plant in 1984 and was a member of UAW Local #659. He enjoyed working outside in his garage fixing lawnmowers, cars, remodeling his home, and working his crossword puzzles. Mr. Murray was a gentle and kind hearted man and had a deep love for his family. He accepted Christ at an early age and recently rededicated his life to Christ. Mr. Murray was united in marriage with his devoted wife in 1956, and shared a wonderful marriage. Mr. Harold W. Murrary leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife, Shirley Murray of Mt. Morris; 2 daughters, Shirletta Murry and Lanita (Melvin) Marion; 6 grandchildren, Carmen "Nooney" Brown, Otto Brown, III, Jarrod Murray, Tiara Murray, Ashton Marion and Micah Murray all of Mt. Morris; sister, Norma Jean Bowie of Topeka, KS; special niece, Carolyn Moore; uncles, Raymond and Josie Buford of Vassar, and Dorothy Buford of Flint; special cousin, Earlene Smith of Compton, CA; sisters-in-law, Willie (Judith) Nolden, Loucille McMullan; brother-in-law, William "Mutt" Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Mr. Leonard Jones and Mr. Willie Veal. Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his son, Harold W. Murray, Jr.; parents; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; uncles, Rev. Emmet Buford and William Buford. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren, Hurley, Dr. Purham, Avalon Hospice especially Sue and Sylvia, Pastor Calvin Martin and Mother Susie Martin, Pastor Eddie Parrish, Valerie Toles and Rev. Alexande Davis.
