BOLDS, Deacon Harold F. - Age 89, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his residence. Family hour 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at Jackson Memorial Temple C.O.G.I.C, 3155 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12 p.m. Bishop H.J. Williams Host Pastor. Bishop J. Drew Sheard Officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Monday. Deacon Bolds will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., with family present from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Deacon Harold Frederick Bolds was born May 30, 1925 in Marianna, Arkansas to the union of Willie and Lettie Bolds. After Graduating from High school, he served in the U.S. Army as a Pvt. during World War II. He was later employed by Buick Motor Division retiring in 1981 after 34 years of service. He was also a Union Representative for UAW Local 599. He married the love of his life Edna Alice Richardson and remained blissfully married for 50 years. Deacon Bolds was a hard working, kind, and loving family man. He enjoyed outdoor grilling and was known as the “Bar-B-Que King”. There was nobody’s BBQ ribs like “Papa Harold’s” as he was affectionately called. He also enjoyed watching sports, reading the bible, playing dominoes, checkers, gardening and spending time with his family. Oh yes, eating was his number one past time. His favorite restaurants include Old Country Buffet, Bob Evans and Big Boy. After giving his life to Christ Deacon Bolds served faithfully at his local church Pilgrim Temple, later named Jackson Memorial Temple COGIC. He was a Sunday School student and scholar, served on the Men of Distinction and the Deacon Board. He also served as President of the Local, District and State Usher Boards of Michigan North Central Jurisdiction until his health would not allow. Deacon Bolds leaves to treasure his sweet memories: loving wife, Edna A. Bolds; 5 children, Anita Hamilton, Sandra Blue, Angeleque Marshall, Cassandra (Elder Freddie) Brown Jr. and DeWayne (Christina) Bolds all of Flint, MI; 9 grandchildren, Shannon Hamilton of Dallas, TX, Shayla Hamilton, Morgan Blue, Falicio Brown, Marquetta (Robert) Callahan, Freddie Brown III, Maurice Johnson, Keshona Dixon and DeNasia Bolds all of Flint, MI; 3 great-grandchildren, Iyanna, Isiah and Fayth, Sister-in-law; Melverta Bolds; 2 Goddaughters, LaVette Hardy and Atarah (Nigel) Mitchner; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends including Pastor George Coulter, Bro James Cannon, Norris Lee Brown. Deacon Bolds was proceeded in death by: his parents, Willie and Lettie Bolds; sisters, Ora Bolds, Willie McKever and Gladys Williams; brothers, Leonard Bolds, Warren Bolds and Edwin Bolds.
