POLLARD, Mr. Gundino A. - Age 52, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Henry Fuller, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G0-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Pollard will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Gundino A. Pollard “Dino” was born January 31, 1963 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Albert Lee Watson, Sr. and Mary E. Williams. He was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Gundino was a graduate of Beecher High School. He started working at a young age, and was employed as a Maintenance Worker at both Beecher Community Schools and Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for many years until he retired due to his health. He also did odd jobs for Rev. & Mrs. Martin. Gundino didn’t have many hobbies, but he loved the Lord and his family. He would help anyone at any given time. Mr. Gundino A. Pollard “Dino” leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Arvesta J. Love of Temple Hill, MD; son, Lee Wayne L. (Jennifer) Johnson; 2 grandchildren, Dalival Johnson of, all of Evansville, IN and Ajanai Pitts of Temple, Hill, MD; 4 sisters, Ada (Walter) Edwards of Mt. Morris, MI, Darla Matthews of Swartz Creek, MI, Traci Pollard of Flint, Naketa Williams of Mt. Morris, MI and a host of other sisters; 3 brothers, James (Sallie) Waters of Flint, Sherman Pollard, Jr. and Roy Pollard, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews including 1 great-great-nephew to be; 2 aunts, Deborah (Lloyd) Holmes and Drianiel Williams-Faris; 2 uncles, Alfonzo (Ovester) Vaughn and Cleophus Gay; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Clarence “Clay” Howell, Ezra Barn, god-mothers, Mrs. Josephine Sharp and Mrs. Bertha Brown. Mr. Pollard was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee Watson, Sr. and Mary E. Williams; grandparents, Willie Mae Vaughn and Howard Waters; great-grandparents, Walter and Sarah Waters; and brother, Daniel “Champ” Williams. The family would like to express special thanks to the Hurley Medical Center Emergency Room staff and Dr. Josephine Bello, the Northland Gardens and Haney families.
