Mr. Gregory Davis

DAVIS, Mr. Gregory - Age 60, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 11:00 AM Friday, October 13, 2017 at Prayer Garden Church of God In Christ, 3918 Fleming Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM, Pastor Jerry Givens, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Friday. Mr. Davis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM Thursday. Mr. Gregory Davis was born January 14, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Tommie and Mamie Davis. He was a resident of Flint and a member of Prayer Garden Church Of God In Christ. Gregory graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1975.” He was employed at Flint Truck & Bus, a division of General Motors Corporation, where he retired after 35 years of service in 2010. Gregory was a member of UAW Local #598. He enjoyed watching sports, movies and listening to gospel music. Gregory also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved his fried chicken and to help people out when they were in need, even if he didn’t know them. Gregory was a kind, hard worker and always had a smile on his face. He made sure his family was well taken care of. Gregory was a father figure to many. Mr. Gregory Davis leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Aleisa Davis of Flint; 4 daughters, Stephaine Davis, Kenya Davis, Kimberly Davis and Taleshea Davis (Clifton Williams); son, Gregory Davis Jr. (Tamisha Pitts); 6 granddaughters, Kendra Dickerson, Quantasia Evans, Mariah Dickerson, Kaniya Tanner, Desiree Savage and Melanie Collins; 7 grandsons, Coriante Payno, Dontray Dickerson, Juwan Payno, Desmir Savage, Dezrion Savage, Lil Gregory Davis Jr. and Messiah Davis; 6 sisters, Sylvia Griffith, Kimberly Davis (Kevin Bell), Cheryl Johnson, Belinda (Willie) Shadowvine, Bridget (Illya) Smith and Yolanda Davis; 2 brothers, Alan (Stephanie) Davis and Tommie Davis Jr. (Judy Perry); a host of nieces and nephews; 9 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Jimmy (Ivory) Miller, Melvin Thomas, Mike Stutts, Judge Archie Hayman, Clyde Coleman and Verdine Moore. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Davis; sister, Tammy Davis; and nephew, Dionte’ Davis.
