Mr. Grant Herron

HERRON, Mr. Grant - Age 60, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, August 28, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with memorial service commencing at 11:00, Pastor Pete Goodman, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:30 AM Monday. There will not be a public viewing. Mr. Grant Darwin Herron age 60, was born March 18, 1963 to Esther Lee (Taylor) Watts & Leonard Herron in Flint, Michigan. He made his transition on August 17, 2023. Grant, aka “Spoony G”, graduated from Flint Central High school and will forever be known for his loving, comical, boisterous personality. Grant loved living life, exploring, traveling and assisting his community. Often doing odd jobs, Grant would help anyone needing assistance. One of the many things he loved doing most, was making cars shine like new. He pridefully made the oldest car look showroom ready. His magnetic and energetic personality was felt by all who crossed his path. He was proud to be a child of God, proud to be from the South side of Flint, braggadocios about his family and gifted beyond our own knowledge. There will never be another like Grant “Spoony G” and he will forever be loved, missed and never forgotten. Mr. Grant Herron leaves to cherish his memory; ex-wife, Delilah Herron; 2 sons, Demontrey Kentrell Leonard Herron and Leonard Dean Herron; Two brothers, Nathan Herron and Tony Watts; bonus brother, Ray Simmons; bonus mother Louise Herron; bonus grandmother, Sylvania Herron; bonus sister, Tina (Cherry) Mays; bonus aunt, Wilma Herron; niece & nephew, Tony & Tescanie Watts; and great-nephew, Jameer Supreme Lofton; special uncle, Matthew Taylor Grant was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Lee (Taylor/Herron) Watts; father, Leonard Herron; grandparents, Toney Taylor, Bertha (Porter/Taylor) Ashton, Melinda (Thompson/Herron) Vaughn and Roy Herron.
