Gordon Myles

MYLES, Mr. Gordon Ray - Age 53, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Southeast Christian Church Of The Apostolic Faith, G-4171 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Kenneth M. Brown, Sr. officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Wednesday. Mr. Myles will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12NOON-8PM Tuesday. Mr. Gordon Ray Myles was born January 15, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Wallace Myles and Bessie Mays. Gordon was employed with Fisher Body until the plant was closed permanently. Undaunted, he began a new career as a Direct Care Provider. On May 1, 1997, Gordon was honored with the “Impact Award”, because of his strong work ethics and dedication. Gordon was an equally dedicated athlete - running the Crim and other marathons for many years. Besides running, he loved fishing, playing pool, and watching sports with his friends. Among friends and family, Gordon had one more unique quality, his sense of humor. On a more serious note, Gordon often assumed parental responsibility for his nieces and nephews by investing in their “First Steps” towards financial independence. Despite his illness, Gordon maintained a positive attitude and strived to remain autonomous. Mr. Gordon Ray Myles leaves to cherish his memory: grandmother, Lillie Bell; mother, Bessie Mays; sisters, Jackie (Huda) Townsend, Wonda Bearyman Dunlap, Janice Jones, Tawanna Baggett and Nancy Voilette; nieces, Kim Armstrong, Latasha Conner, Alicia Bearyman, and Shakera and Angielic Reed; nephews, Rendal and Rodric Odom, Adam Bearyman and Timothy House; aunts, Mary Hall, Christine (Eddie) Maxie and Ella Jones; special cousins, John, Farron and Stacey Hall, and Candace and Jasmine Myles. Mr. Myles was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Myles; grandfather, L. C. Bell; sister, Terry Armstrong; nephew, Andre’ Myles; and stepfather, Dudley Mays. The family would like to give special thanks to Grace Hospice, Dr. Wormack, Kathy Smith, Sue Anderson and brother-in-law, Huda Townsend.
