Mrs. Glorie Jean Cross

CROSS, Mrs. Glorie - Age 74, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Overseerr Benny Stribling officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park, 9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mount Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Tuesday. Mrs. Cross will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday. Mrs. Glorie Jean (White) Cross, 74 received her call from God on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at McLaren-Flint. She mounted upon her heavenly wings and answered the call. Glorie was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on April 1, 1948 to the late Mr. Daniel W. and Mother Lillie B. White. She attended Townsend Park School in Pine Bluff, AR and later moved to Flint, Michigan in 1962 and attended Flint Central High School, graduating from Old Northern High School in 1966. Upon graduating from high school, she became an employee of Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation of Flint. Glorie worked forty plus years and enjoyed her retirement. She was a former member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor E.L. Girley. Glorie loved to cook, watch old TV shows, play cards and was a fun person to everyone she came in contact with. Mrs. Glorie Jean Cross leaves to carry on her precious memories: 2 sons, Mr. Jerry Allen (Tara) White and Mr. Tyree Chron Cross; 6 grandchildren, Mr. Jonathan (Kayla) McMillian, Mrs. Kala (Brent) Diggs, Ms. Phillisa White, Ms. Dequindra Cross, all of Flint, Mr. Adison James, and Mr. Isaiah Cross, both of Waverly, TN; 6 great-grandchildren, Kynadi McMillian, Jade Scott, Levi Diggs, JaKari Jones, Shaquille Smit and A’Jala Chatmon, all of Flint; 6 sisters, Shirley Miller, Co-Pastor Lená (Pastor Benny) Stribling, Rená Haney, Carolyn Frisby Cynthia Washington, all of Flint, Camille (Limer) Cheers-Holman of Fort Worth, TX; 4 brothers, Daniel W. (Lois) White, Lafonza E. (Joan) Washington Sr., Carl White, all of Flint and Michael L. White of Nashville, TN; 2 aunts, Dr. Melvia (Rev. Don) Russell of Florene, AL and Mrs. Josephine Haney of Flint; a host of special loving niece, nephews and cousins of various states. Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Daniel W. and Mother Lillie B. White; maternal grandparents, Mr. Edie Haney and Mother Ollie Haney; paternal grandparents, Mr. Nelson Wallace and Mother Amanda Wallace; grandson, Jace White; aunts, Frankie B. Jenkins and Katy Brown; uncles, Roy Haney, Loyd Haney, Matthew Brown, Theodis Porter, Johnny and Nelson Wallace; sisters, Glenda F. Davis and Florene White; nephew, DeRicco White; cousins, Thomas Johnson, Bernard Phillips, Derrick Jenkins, Roy Chatmon, Eric Furlow, Terry Furlow Larry Brown, Iretha Greene, and James Sims Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. R. Peddireddy, McLaren-Flint, her brothers, Carl and Danny (her caregivers), Pastor Benny Stribling and Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home staff.
