Gloria Mullins

MULLINS, Mrs. Gloria - Age 70, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at Genesys Hospice Center. Family hour 12Noon Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Foss Avenue Baptist Church, 1159 E. Foss Avenue, with funeral service commencing at 12:30PM, Pastor Reginald Flynn officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12Noon Saturday. Mrs. Mullins will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mrs. Gloria Dean Mullins was born September 16, 1938 in Village, Arkansas to the proud parents of Milford (Ruby) Willingham. Gloria joined Friendship Baptist Church in Mount Holly, Arkansas at an early age. Later she relocated to Flint, Michigan and became of member of Foss Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Avery Aldridge. She was a member of the Missions Committee and a volunteer at the Foss Avenue Clothing Center. Gloria worked in sales part-time, but mostly stayed at home to take care of her children. She asked the Lord to at least spare her life until her children were grown. Mrs. Gloria Dean Mullin leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 52 years, married on May 31, 1957, Thomas J. Mullins, Sr.; mother of 4 children, Rayetta Lovett, Loretta Matthews, Thomas J. Mullins, Jr., all of Flint and Prophetess Jeanette Mullins-Word of Lithonia, GA; 8 grandchildren, Raynai` Lovett, Keyon Lovett, Sheena Loving, Phillip Loving III, Jenelle Matthews, Oshay Keyon Mullins, all of Flint, Jeanesha and Jewaun Word, both of Lithonia, GA; brother, Nelson Willingham; nephew, Brian (Rhonda) Willingham, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Mr. Curtis Lee Johnson, Mrs. Bessie Beard, Mrs. Veola Mason, Ms. Francis Ferguson, Mrs. Helen Turner, Mrs. Josephine Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Barbara) Gray, Mrs. Gloria Hines, Mrs. Shirley Stitt and her Foss Avenue Church family. Mrs. Mullins was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Willingham; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Mullins; and son-in-law, Kevin D. Lovett. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Hicks, Dr. Tommy Stevens, Dr. Danish, nursing staffs of Genesys Hospice in Goodrich and Geneys Health Park, Dr. Reginald Flynn and the Foss Avenue Baptist Church Family. .
