Gloria Grear

GREAR, Ms. Gloria Jean - Age 52, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m., Pastor Lamarr Griggs officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Monday. Ms. Grear will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Ms. Gloria J. Grear was born June 17, 1958 in Fulton, Mississippi to Mary Grear-Williams and Peter Grear, Jr. Sis. Gloria Grear accepted Christ at an early age upon moving to Flint, Michigan. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. Sister Grear worked at Lake Orion Nursing Home until 1992, when her health began to fail. Sis. Gloria enjoyed life to the fullest. She also enjoyed her family and friends, cooking, playing cards, crossword puzzles, bingo, casino and traveling; especially to Alabama. Ms. Gloria J. Grear leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Michelle (James) Parker, Dersia Grear (Kenneth Price) and Amisha McGruder; 8 grandchildren, Gloriona and James Parker III, Tayshia, Malaysia Grear, Kenneth Price, Jr., Zariah, Sharkira and Keondre; 18 nieces including special nieces, DeDe, Adrian and Mahogany; 11 nephews including special nephews, Anthony, Charles Lewis and Mikey, Walter, Eric and Lil Robert; 48 great-nieces and nephews; 3 sisters, Mary (Louis) Jones, Terisa (Charlie O) Grear and Thelma (ToJo) Towner; 6 brothers, Robert (Barbara) White, Marshall (Voncille) Grear, K.C. Grear, Edward (Betty) Grear, Kenny (Nancy) Grear and Kelly Thomas; god daughter, Shakira; a host of aunts, cousins and dear friends including special friend, Rell, close friends, Irene, Val, Kim, Liz, Leo, Lynn, Delores and Moses. Ms. Grear was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Williams; father, Peter Grear, Jr.; stepfather, Jimmie Williams; granddaughter, Makayla Price; 2 sisters, Lillie Jones and Annie Pearl; 3 uncles, Paris, Lloyd and Ellis; 4 aunts, Laverne, Mildred, Josephine, and Laura; 2 nephews, James Crayton,Jr. and Terence Grear. The family would like to express special thanks to Genesys and McLaren Regional Medical Centers, Pastor Hall and the Bethel A.M.E. Church family, Pastor Lamarr Griggs, Pastor Towner and Sister Towner, Pastor Ernest J. Garrison and the Vernon Chapel A.M.E.
