Mrs. Gloria D. Carroll

CARROLL, Ms. Gloria - Age 68, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment, Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:00 AM Tuesday. Mrs. Carroll will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Monday. Mrs. Gloria Dean Carroll was born July 12, 1955 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Albert Jr. and Helen (Howard) Carroll. Gloria was a attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and Ruth Street COGIC. She was a graduate of Mr. David’s School of Cosmetology and Detroit College of Business where she obtained an Associate Degree. Gloria was employed by Happy Elephant Child Care for 10 years and Bright Beginning Child Care for 5 years. She was an exceptional mother and grandmother. Gloria enjoyed cooking, watching movies and gameshow with family, traveling, shopping and being grandmother to every child she encountered. Mrs. Gloria Dean Carroll leaves to cherish her memory: 4 daughters, Sheresa Carroll, Shermaine (Curtis) Lee, Sheretta Carroll and Sherquanda Carroll, all of Flint; son, Grady Chaney Jr. of Watauga, TX; 13 grandchildren, Devonta Carroll, Anthony Carroll, both of Flint, Andre Carroll of Memphis, TN, Steven Patton, Shemicka Patton, Sharleana Bly, LaShandra Brown, De’Angelo Owens, Andreada Johnson, George Rogers IV, all of Flint, Jaquavius Carroll of Ann Arbor, MI, Malik King Chaney of Denton, TX and Destiny Willis of Flint; 31 great-grandchildren; brother, Lewis Carroll; 6 nieces, Iesha, Teffony, Sparkle, all of Flint, Helen of Conway, AR, Quanesha and Quinta, both of Peoria, IL; 5 nephews, Javis (Tonya) Carroll of Arlington, TX, Dejuan (Freda) Carroll, Charles Daniels, Larry and Laquan, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Devoris Croom, Helen and Jaqueline Brock, Tammy and Milton Carroll, and Betsy King. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Jr. and Helen Carroll; brothers, Charles Carroll, Lawrence Carroll and Melvin Carroll; sister, Patsy Banks; nephews, Deonta Williams, Mario Minniweather and Rico Carroll.
