BRADFORD, Ms. Glenda Faye "Sistergirl" - Age 61, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Genesys Hospice Center. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2 p.m. Pastor George Wilkinson officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Ms. Bradford will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Friday. Ms. Glenda Faye "Sistergirl" Bradford was born September 16, 1949 to Oliver and Carrie (Lanier) Bradford in Huntsville, AL. After moving to Flint, MI,Glenda attended Flint Community Schools, graduating from Southwestern High School in 1967. She also received her Associates Degree from Mott Community College where she majored in Broadcasting. Glenda was a dedicated musician. She played in several jazz bands and trios using her gift and talents as a percussionist and soloist. Glenda loved people and felt it was her calling to assist in any way. She was employed, as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, at Rite Aid Pharmacy for more than 30 years. She enjoyed helping her customers and ensured they receive personal attention, care and great customer service. She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted and loving sister/caregiver, Tonedia A. Threlkeld of Flint, MI; 2 brothers, Pastor Theodore Bone of Huntsville, AL and Rev. Ralph (Gladys) Coe of Muskegon, MI; sister-in-law, Elnora Coe of Flint, MI; a host of other relatives, including special nieces and nephews, Jerome (Paula) Threlkeld of Grand Blanc, MI, Dennett Threlkeld, Monique (John) Campbell of Flint, and Vanessa Bone of Huntsville, AL; honorary sisters, Gail Smith, Susan Toerne, Lessie Ryhmes, Bertha Moses, Linda Booth, Angela Berry, Anita "Chicken" Loving and Erniece Bizzle. Ms. Bradford was preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Carrie Bradford; and sister-in-Law Laura Bone. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Rizwan Danish and staff of Genesys Cancer Center, staff at Genesys Hospice of Goodrich, MI(Jim, Elizabeth, Amy and Nancy) and caregivers, Tonedia and Paula Threlkeld who spent countless hours transporting and caring for Glenda’s medical needs.
