Glen Stone

STONE, Mr. Glen Allen - Age 57, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008 at his residence. Family hour 11AM Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Bountiful Love Ministries, G-3432 W. Pasadena Ave, with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Rev. Releigh Ford, officiating, Supt. Kevelin Jones, Host Pastor. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Saturday. Mr. Stone will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Friday. Mr. Glen Allen Stone was born October 5, 1950 in Fulton, Mississippi, the first child of eight children to Reverend Isom Stone and the late Ivy Stone-Gay. He graduated from Flint Central High School "Class of 1969". He met Martha "Linda" Milhouse in 1977, marrying on November 18, 1988. Glen and Linda remained married until death done its part. He loved his wife dearly and being around family and friends. He also loved umpiring at the Blue Berry Feast, Berston Field House and The Dug Out. Glen was known for his outgoing, funny, and charming personality that he shared with all he came in contact with. He was currently employed with D.M. Burr at The Genesee Valley Center. Glen loved singing for the Lord, he sang with The Gospel Supremes of Flint, MI and over the years they have shared the stage with such artists as: The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Jackson Southernaires, The Highway QC's, Violinaires, Slim and The Supreme Angels, Pilgrim Jubilees, Luther Barnes, Doc McKenzie, The Williams Brothers and Lee Williams and The Spiritual QC's. The Gospel Supremes have taken their ministry to others across the country from: Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Mississippi, North Carolina, Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois, New York and Nebraska. God has blessed them to carry their ministry to the incarcerated in the Genesee County Jail, Newberry, Muskegon and St. Louis Michigan Correctional Facilities. He never met a stranger he would just sit and talk to you all day long. Glen rededicated his life to Christ, joining Agape Baptist Church. He later followed his earthly father joining New City of Hope. Mr. Glen Allen Stone leaves to cherish his loving memories, beloved wife, Martha L. Stone; sons, Eric Durkins-Stone of California and Antwain Durkins of Flint; father and step-mother, Reverend Isom (Leola) Stone of Flint; brothers, Darryl Stone, Bob Crooms, Doherty Scott and Steven (Rita) Gay; sisters, Sheila Lowe of Sturgis, MS, Robin (Tommy) Jackson, Alisha (Jerome) Dantzler, Faye Stone, Earlie (Earnest) Brooks, Shirley (Earl) Watts of Milwaukee, WI, Joyce Crooms, Janice (Michael) Banks and Elaine (John) Sullivan; 4 brothers-in-law, Paige Milhouse, Jr., John (Lottie) Milhouse, Walter and Charles Milhouse, Johnny Isom; 3 sisters-in-law, Henrietta Rhynes, Barbara Bond and Gloria (Haywood) Battle; uncles, Reverend Carven (Virginia) Stone of Akron, OH, Thomas (Gwen) Stone of Decatur, GA and Joe Earl of Atlanta, GA; aunts, Edna Earl Jones of Hartford, CT, Nancy (Haywood) Wilson of Fulton, MS and Kate Stone of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends including first cousins, James (Joann) Banks, Shelia Brooks and Virginia Banks, all of Saginaw, MI; special friends, Vernon (Ruby) Hill, Sharon, Dwight Friend, Deacon Love and Richard "Bubba" Frasier; God-daughter, Barbara Louise Bond. Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his mother, Ivy Lee Stone-Gay; step-father, L.C. Gay; sisters, Linda Carolyn Stone, Yvonne Denise Isom and Annette Gay; and brother, Willie Scott.
