RODGERS, Mr. Glen Eric - Age 69, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. Family hour 12:00 PM Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Good Church, 1034 E. Holbrook Ave., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM. Pastor Wendell Thompson, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:00 PM Saturday. Mr. Rodgers will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Friday, May 10, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with family present from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Glen Rodgers was born on June 15, 1954, in Detroit, MI. He made his heavenly transition at the age of 69 on Monday April 29, 2024, surrounded by family. Glen was the youngest of four children born to Carter Jackson (JC) and Lee Edna Rodgers. Glen attended Detroit Schools and received his associate degree from Mott Community College. Glen later moved to Flint and joined Holbrook Avenue Church of God under the leadership of the late Rev. Clayton S. Williams. He later met the love of his life, Patricia Stansberry to whom he was married to for 36 Years. To this union they had two sons: Glen Eric Rodgers Jr. and Demetrius Rodgers. He was also a loving father to Natasha Stansberry and Kenyon Stansberry, all of Flint, MI. Glen was employed by V-8 Engine plant and retired from Flint Engine South, both division of General Motors Corporation after 40 years of service. He remained a dedicated member of Holbrook Ave. Church of God under the leadership of Rev Leo Sr. & Janell Robinson serving as an usher and church trustee for over 30 years. Glen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved traveling with his wife, cooking and having a good time with his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and had such a loving spirit. He left a lasting impression on the lives of those he touched and will be missed. Mr. Glen Rodgers leaves to cherish his memory; wife Patricia Rodgers; Sons Glen Eric Rodgers Jr., Demetrius Rodgers, Kenyon Stansberry, and Daughter Natasha Stansberry. Eight grandchildren; Keyona, Na’tajai, Chantele’, Kiera, Kenyon Jr., Glenn III, Savanna, A’Nazhe; Five Great Grandchildren- Ny’Eim, Jaiceon, Za’Miya, KaNiya, De’Aire. Brother Grady Rodgers. Brother-in-Law Donald Ray (Dorothy) Stansberry. Four nieces and two nephews, Special niece Dr. Rockelle Branhan and a host of family and friends. Glen was preceded in death; by Parents Father Carter (JC) Rodgers and Mother Lee Edna Rodgers, brothers: Emmitt Charles and John Wayne Rodgers, sister- Kathleen Rodgers. Several Aunts, Uncles and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Henry Ford Hospital, Dr. Osama Sayed, MD and Raffee Abdullah. As well as the support of Good Church and Refuge Temple Church of Flint.
