BRANTLEY, Mrs. Geraldine R. - Age 95, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Foss Avenue Baptist Church, 1159 E. Foss Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Reginald G. Flynn officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Brantley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed 12 p.m.- 8 p.m. with family present from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday. Geraldine was born November 4, 1919 in Tarry, Arkansas. Born to the Rev. Daniel Sr. and Irena Jones. A retired home maker, she was a member of Foss Avenue Baptist Church for over 55 years. Geraldine taught Sunday school for many years, Vacation bible school, sang in the Senior Choir, was active in Mission, and was also a Trustee and Deaconess. In later years, Pastor Avery Aldridge appointed her to the Senior Mother’s Ministry. She is survived by 3 daughters, Rutha Brown of Hampton, GA, Geraldine Robinson of Texas City, TX, Loraine (Algie) Watkins of Lansing, MI; son, Carlton Brantley of Flint, MI; special “chosen” children, Michael and Barbara Littlejohn of Lansing, MI, Emerson and Carol Boles of Flint, MI; grandchildren, Darnell (Janet) Kindle of Los Angeles, CA, Dana (Marshall) Guyton of St. Louis, MO, Eric (Jyonne) Brantley of Hampton, GA, Shauna (Travis) Eli of Palm Springs, CA, Daniel Flynn of Texas City, TX, Greg Thomas, Earl Thomas both of Grand Blanc, MI, Alex Watkins of Lansing, MI, Ebony Gates, Darryll Brown, Lakiesha Brantley, Searis West-Brantley and Carla Brantley all of Flint, MI; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Guyton, Tiffany Kindle, Tonia Brantley, Danielle Guyton, Jazmine Upchurch, Angelic Upchurch, Darnell Kindle Jr., Cheyanne Thomas, Greg Thomas Jr., Landon Brown, Harmony Veasy, Jayden Eli, Lyric Brantley and Earl Veasy Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Kameron Perryman and Harper Coleman; additional grandchildren by marriage, Ashlee Anderson, Aysha Brantley, DJ Tupper, Autumn Tupper, Aorlynn Tupper, and Travis Baker. Geraldine is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Thomasine and Joyce Brantley both of Detroit, MI; and brother-in-law, Edd (Earnestine) Abron of Flint, MI. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Sr.; daughters, Myrtle Stewart, Clara Brantley, and Irene Brantley; son, Leon Brantley Jr.; grandson, Algie T. Watkins Jr.; parents, Rev. Daniel Sr. and Irena Boyd Jones; sister, Ruthie Richmond; and brothers, Jimmie Jones and Daniel Jones Jr.
