Ms. Georgia "Red" Anderson

ANDERSON, Ms. Georgia "Red" - Age 57, was transitioned from this life to be with the Lord, whom she loved, Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Family hour 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd.. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Monday. Ms. Anderson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Ms. Georgia Ann Anderson affectionately known as “Red” began this journey of life on April 10, 1955 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Eliza and the late Johnny Anderson. Georgia “Red” Anderson attended Flint Northwestern High School and graduated, “Class of 1973.” She was previously employed by Hurley Medical Center and General Motors V-8 division and many other jobs helping others in the community. “Red” loved shopping for clothes and shoes, watching Madea movies, going on cruises with her church family and especially talking, (she never met a person that was a stranger.) “Red” greatest gift from God was her “Belief.” She especially loved her church, House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church in which through the years, she served on many committees, and remained faithful until her death. Ms. Georgia “Red” Anderson leaves to cherish her wonderful memory: daughter, Felicia (John) Chandler; granddaughter, Lalah Mahlon Zhane’ Chandler, whom she loved both unconditionally and enjoyed every minute she spent with Lalah; mother, Eliza Anderson; 2 sisters, Johanna Houston and Margaret (Robert Clark) Anderson; 3 brothers, John (Linda Wright) Anderson, Allan (Michelle) Anderson and Gregory Anderson, all of Flint; host of nieces including special nieces, Lakeesha Anderson, Marquita Anderson and especially LaKeitha Anderson for her devotion, time and compassion; a host of nephews including special nephew, Montreal Anderson; 4 aunts, Doreatha Bates, Nellie Thomas, Eddie Mae "Happy" James of Flint and Ledora Whitaker of Pine Bluff, AR; 3 uncles, Joe (Rose) Byrd, Andrew Byrd and Archie Byrd, all of Flint; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends including God-sisters, Tracey Cunningham and Virginia Perkins, God-daughters, Tonika Arline and Dorothy Jones, special and devoted friends, Helen Wilson, Dorothy Dillard, Kimberly Whitaker, Earlene Alford, Patricia Franklin, Freda Woods and Wendell Harvey, neighbor, Craig Owens and House Prayer Missionary Baptist Church family. Ms. Anderson was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Anderson; brother, David Anderson; sister, Barbara Herrin; and nephew, Clyde "Laray" Anderson.
