Mrs. Gearldean (Kennedy) Lott

(KENNEDY) LOTT, Mrs. Gearldean - Age 71, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Briarwood Manor. Mrs. Lott will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday, April 1, 2021. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Due to COVID Restrictions a private funeral service will be for family only. Geraldean (Kennedy) Lott was born November 4, 1949 in Weir, Mississippi. She was the youngest of 8 children born to Ethel and Girtha Kennedy. The family moved to Flint, Michigan in the mid-fifties. Geraldean graduated from Southwestern High School in 1967. Gerri (as she was called) was joined in Holy Matrimony on April 17, 1983 to Jackson Lott. She worked for AC Spark Plug and remained there for 30 years until she retired. Geraldean was an active member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor K.D. Yarber where she served as Deaconess. She was also a member of the Pastor's Aid Society. Everyone knew that Gerri loved her church family! Geraldean was a former member of Cape Jasmine Chapter #2, O.E.S. She was also a founding member and President of the Southside Reunion where she enthusiastically served the community and coordinated annual events. Gerri was a social butterfly. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Gerri also enjoyed mentoring young people especially the young children in her neighborhood. Her laugh was loud and contagious. You would often hear her saying things like “bless you darling” or “I’m fine” or “I’m gone whip you!.” Gerri had impeccable style and a love for hats. Her hobbies included, travelling, shopping, cooking, and collecting all things related to butterflies. Geraldean Lott is survived by: children Vincent (Tracy) Lott, Jacqueline Lott-Kearse, all of Georgia, Patricia and Sandra Lott, both of California, Byron (Rachel) Pugh of Arizona and Django Lott (her dog) of Flint; god-daughter, Paige James; grandchildren, Vincent II, Whitney, Kayla and Hazina Lott, Olivia Pugh, Terry, Tyler and Joshua Kearse; siblings, Rev. James (Mary) Kennedy of Flint and Glyndean (Ladelle) Lane of Evanston, IL; nieces, Sandra, Sheri, Stephon and Takeshi Kennedy, and Darla (Dan) Taylor, ; nephews, Gregory, Douglas, and Paul Kennedy; a host great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; in-laws, Claudette Kennedy, Brenda Kennedy, Dorothy Kennedy, Lee-Floyd Lots and Jimmy (Brenda) Lott; a host of other relatives and friends including lifetime friends, Lerlean Campbell, Rita Gay and Toni Sims. Gerri was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Lott; son, Donald Fitzgerald Simmons; parents, Ethel and Girtha Kennedy; siblings, Charles, Daniel, Burnis, Frederick and Ernestine Kennedy; niece, Chaunda Kennedy; nephews, David and Freddie Kennedy.
