Garland Cabine

CABINE, Mr. Garland - Age 75, was escorted home by the angels, Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, G-4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m., Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Sr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Cabine will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Garland “Jene” Cabine was born June 26, 1935 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of Willie Cabine and Union (Williams) Cabine. “Jene” was a resident of Flint. He was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church until the very end, where he enjoyed attending Sunday school and was on the Usher Board. “Jene” retired from A.C. Spark Plugs in 1983, after 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #651. He enjoyed watching sports and old westerns. Mr. Garland “Jene” Cabine leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife of 29 years, Delmarie Cabine; 8 children, Debora (Mike) Downing of Antioch, TN, Dennis (Melissa) Cabine of Saginaw, MI, Danny (Yvonne) Cabine, Donald Cabine, all of Flint, Derrick Cabine of Antioch, TN, Sonya Henderson and Tiffani (Dion) Brown, Sr., all of Flint; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Irma Dorn of St. Louis, Mo; 2 sisters-in-law, Genevieve (Lewis) Simpson of Flint and Alma Hariston of Decatur, MI; brother-in-law, Fred (Dorthy) January, Jr., of Burton, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Vernell Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Spratt, Walt Collins, Clarece Stewart, Maxine Davis, Clare Wynn, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Campbell and Phillip Littlejohn. Mr. Cabine was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte Cabine; parents, Willie “Sweet” Cabine, J.C. and Union Stoudmire; 2 sisters, Mahalia Williams and Rosie McBride; 3 brothers-in-law, James January, Herman Strong and Daniel Haralson; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Geneva January, Sr. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center CCU, Dr. Samuel Desmond and staff, Dr. Wayne Breeze and staff, the Davita Dialysis staff, the entire Motley family, Rev.
