Mr. Fredrick Miles Walton

WALTON, Mr. Fredrick Miles - Age 76, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at University of Michigan Hospital-Ann Arbor, MI. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Kingdom of Heaven Ministries, 2430 Dutcher Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Apostle Dr. Lonnie W. Brown officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Walton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Fredrick M. Walton was born March 19, 1939, in Mineral Springs, Arkansas to the late Willie Lee and Cardell Walton and went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Upon graduating High school in Arkansas he then moved to Flint, Michigan and began working for General Motors Metal Fab of Grand Blanc Michigan as a Skilled Tradesman. It was when he move to Flint that he met and married the late Mrs. Kathleen (Hilbert) Walton where they raised their three children. Mr. Walton was an active member of UAW Local #1292 where he served as an elected Committee man and later Committee Man-at-Large for several years. After retiring from GM in year 2000, he served as a Transporter and Dispatcher for Flint MTA Your Ride after which he later retired from there as well. Mr. Walton loved entertaining and socializing with family and friends at his home, especially with nephews, Tracey, Johnny Ray, Sammie, Ted “Cisco” and Derrick. He enjoyed traveling, cooking-grilling for his family and was an avid sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed watching baseball. Mr. Walton also enjoyed playing softball and took pride in being part of the City League as an Official Umpire for local softball leagues in Flint. Freddie also enjoyed watching Nascar races and welcomed every opportunity to drive as if he were actually participating in the Grand Prix or the Indy 500 races … “Go Freddie Go”. He leaves to cherish his memory: his sisters, Jerry (Theodore) Jordan, of Grand Blanc, MI, Linda Ireland, Barbara Jordan; his brothers, Elder C.D. (Bert) Walton, D.M. Walton and Henry Walton, all of Flint; daughter, Fermeko “Peachy” (Alan) Myles of Flint; sons, Robbie Walker, Rodney Walton, and Vincent Bradley; grandchildren, Amari and Alayna Myles, Cierra, Keturah and Mariah Walker, Nicolas and Nicole Walton, along with his many great grandchildren especially great grandson, Mekhi (who tended to his every need), a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Walton was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Cardell Walton; brothers, Ben Walton Jr., and James Walton; sisters, Virginia McNeal, Eleandora “Eleanor” Walton, Trisha Scott; and brother-in-law, Dolph Ireland III. Brown, Lady Frances Brown and the KHM Family; the ICCU unit nursing staff and respiratory team at University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor; caregiver, Ms. Norma Thompson; neighbor, Mattie McElroy and close friends, Traci Johnson and Thelma Rodgers.
