Frederick Gray

GRAY, Mr. Frederick - Age 37, passed away Monday, July 6, 2009 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, July 13, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Monday. Mr. Gray will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10AM-6PM Sunday. Mr. Frederick L. “Fred” Gray was born March 20, 1972 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Charles D. Ross and the late Mamie Price Gray. Fred attended Flint Public Schools and was a graduate of Northwestern High School. He was employed as a Quality Supervisor for the PIC Group. On March 25, 2000, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Deionya D. Smith. Fred was an active member of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit Ministries and was devoted to Sunday School classes until his health prevented him from attending. He enjoyed music so much he opened his own music studio for new up and coming artists to record in and produce numerous records. Fred always enjoyed helping young people express themselves through music. He also loved spending time with his sons, having dance contests, playing games and simply talking. Mr. Frederick L. “Fred” Gray leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Deionya D. Gray; 2 sons, Deiondre JuQuan Smith and Darreion Juan Gray ; parents, Charles (Cheryl) Ross; 5 sisters, Veronica (Allen) Angel of Houston, TX, Clara Gray of Detroit, MI, Estella Cook of Denver, CO, Marzella Gray of Houston, TX and LaTonya Gray of Detroit, MI; brother, Bill Gray of Flint; 4 nieces; 4 nephews; mother and father-in-law, Pastor Jesse (Cheryl) Wilson and Howard (Regina) Keels; sisters-in-law, Nysha Walker and Regina Simmons; brother-in-law, Jahmar Keels, all of Flint; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Michael Polk and Johnny (Cass) Bowers. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Price Gray; and sister, Symaria Gray. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Osama, Dr. Mohamed and Michael Polk for their continuous support and care, special cousin and prayer warriors, Stepanie Hamilton and Luchia Miller of Kingsland, GA, Father, Son, Holy Spirit Minitries and Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church families.
