COLE, Mr. Freddie - Age 59, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at Hurly Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Friday January 7, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2 p.m. Dr. Roosevelt Deloach officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Friday. Mr. Cole will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8p.m. Thursday. Mr. Freddie Lee Cole was born January 12, 1951 in Atmore, Alabama, the son of Willie Evelyn Long and Arthur Cole. Freddie moved to Flint in 1968 and was employed for General Motors for 10 years. His hobbies included playing horse shoes, watching old western movies, barbecuing and watching the Detroit Lions and Pistons games. Freddie loved feeding people and his door was always open to anyone. He was a loving and kind person. Mr. Freddie Lee Cole leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Lashanda Carter of Flushing, MI; son, Freddie Wilson of Flint; grandchildren, Terrence, Khadeijah, Aaliyah and Freddy; 5 sisters, Joyce (Willie) Peacock of Clarksville, TN, Sarah (Kinish) Grady, Cora Causey and Pamela Long, all of Flint and Patricia (Thomas) White of Pontiac, MI; 2 brothers, Gregory and Benjamin Long, Jr., both of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews; 3 aunts, Gladys Thomas of Flint, Clara Hamilton of Larchmont, NY and Lillie B. Mitchell of Walnut Hill, FL; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Vernetta Mitchell, Darlene Lewis, Sonya Austin, Brenda, Nicey, Randy Abraham and the Bishop Street family. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his mother, Willie E. (Benjamin) Long; father, Arthur Cole; 2 sisters, Brenda Ward and Lisa Townsend; brother, Curtis Long; and 2 brothers-in-law, Larry Ward and Ray Causey. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Roosevelt Deloach and the Upper Room Missionary Baptist Church Family, Bishop M.C. Akins and the Heavenly Host Full Gospel Baptist Church, Pastor Martez Warren and the Church Without Walls and the staff of Hurley Medical Centers 7 east, 4th floor, EICU and CICU and caregivers, Felicia Hunt, Kendra Grady and Cora Causey.
