BONDS, Franklin D. Roosevelt - Age 65, died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, OH. Family hour 10AM Thursday, December 8, 2005 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Robert Blanks, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Thursday. Franklin D. Roosevelt Bonds will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 3PM-8PM Wednesday. Franklin D. Roosevelt Bonds was born November 5, 1940 in Tiptonville, Tennessee to Josephine Tyris and Claude Bonds. Franklin graduated from Dyersburg High School in Dyersburg, TN and continued his education at Roosevelt University, in Chicago, IL where he obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering. Relocating to Flint in 1972, where he was united in Holy Matrimony to his devoted and loving wife of over 30 years, Chinese Ephraim. Mr. Bonds was employed by Grand Trunk Railroad as the 1st black Electrical Engineer. Franklin Bonds leaves to cherish his memory: his beautiful wife, Chinese; his children, Anita (Kenneth) Davis, Antonio (Dernice) Bonds, Ava (Rodney) Jackson, Joseph Johnson, and Charles Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren including special great-grandson, Jaden "Buddy" Bolton; brothers, Julius Bonds, Allen (Gwen) Bonds, Gary (Evelyn) Williams; brother-in-law, Doc (Henriette) Ephraim; sisters, Lizzie (Jimmie) Morgan, Katherine (Fred) Morgan, Kay (Bobby) Holmes, Pepper Ann (Ike) Steele, Sandra Williams and Jacklen (Roger) Edwards; and sister-in-law, Annie (Prince) Covington; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends Bar Stool Mamma and the late Dan Neeley. Franklin Bonds was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine Sharp, Claude Bonds; step-father, Ralph Sharp; 2 sisters, Eula Locust Hunter, Ora Mae Jones; and a grandson, Dominique Donvier' Tyle. The family would like to express thanks to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation 9th and 11th floor staff, McLaren Emergency Room staff, Pulmonary Associates, P.C. Doctors and Staff, and many others for their acts and expressions of love.
