Mr. Frank R. Jones

JONES, Mr. Frank R. -Age 50, went in peace to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at McLaren of Flint. Family hour 10:30 a.m. today, February 9, 2015 at First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1226 Beach St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Ezra L. Tillman, Jr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. today. Mr. Frank Randall Jones was born August 21, 1964 in Alliance, Ohio, the oldest of four children, and was relocated to Flint in 1968. He was educated in the Flint Public School System and graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1983.” Frank attended Mott Community College before relocating back to Alliance in search of employment. He worked there in various Group Homes for Boys before he was assigned as a Counselor until funding was unavailable. Before relocating back to Flint he worked as a Laborer in various factories. His favorite hobbies were to dress and make others laugh; he made sure he had plenty “snazzy” suits, with the hat and shoes to match and could not tell a story without putting a joke in it. He accepted Christ at a very young age, being baptized under the Leadership of the Late Reverend Dr. F.O. Hockenhull. He was eagerly looking forward to increasing his spiritual relationship with the Lord under the Leadership of Pastor Ezra L. Tillman, Jr… Frank was a “Servant” at heart. He was a member and one of the Directors of the Mass Choir and the Male Chorus. He also served as Vice-President of the Mass Choir and was a member of the Great Lakes District Baptist Association Male Chorus; always willing to do anything around the Church that needed to be done. He is survived by his devoted and loving mother, whom he loved and tried to protect unto his death, Catherine Jones; loving sister, Rhonda Madison of Flint; brother, J’Dyn (Amy) Banks of Laveen, AZ; three foster sons, Billy, Antonio and Jeremy; three foster grandchildren; blended siblings; 5 sisters, Robin Banks and Evonne Smith of Flint, Leonardo Richardson of Glendale, AZ, Leonita Williams of Alliance, OH and Lillis Miller of Canton, OH; 6 brothers, Barry (Edna) Banks of Flint, Robert Earl (Chanta) Banks Jr., of Tacoma, WA, Joe Howard Jr. of Birmingham, AL, Willie Howard-Bush of Cleveland, OH, Christopher Hicks of Alliance, OH and Levester Howard of Bartow, FL; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, especially Cierra, Dai’Jon and Rodney Banks II, Zairreon and T’Onia Madison, all of whom he was dear to and loved unconditionally; four devoted and loving aunts which spoiled him all his life, Willie Mae and Connie Jones of Alliance, OH, Marilyn Cooper of Akron, OH, Bobbie Lee Stewart of Niagara Falls, NY and Viola Carpenter-Oaks of Grand Rapids, MI; loving uncle, Clifford Jones of Niagara Falls, NY; numerous friends he grew up with in First Trinity and their relatives he adopted as his own; especially the Vaughn and Haynes families who mentored him as a young man. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Howard; his devoted loving father that reared him from birth as his own, Robert Earl Banks Sr.; brother, Rodney Earl Banks I; grandparents, Frank and Aria Jones; aunts, Mary Thurmond, Helen Matthews and Denise Jones; uncles, John, Leorn and Jerry Jones, Robert Jarman Sr., Earl Thurmond Sr. and Otis Lewis Curry Sr.
