Mr. Frank "Leonard" Henderson

HENDERSON, Mr. Frank "Leonard" - Age 53, made his transition to his "Heavenly Reward", Sunday, August 4, 2013 at University of Michigan Hospital. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, G-1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor John Thornton, officiating, Pastor Patrick Sanders, Sr., Host Pastor. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Monday. Mr. Henderson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday with family present from 4-6 p.m. Mr. Frank Leonard Henderson “Leonard” was born on September 24, 1959 in Flint, MI to Frank Marks and Estella Mae (Brown) Henderson. Leonard attended Flint Community Schools, graduating from Flint Northwestern High School, "Class of 1977." Leonard attended Baker College for a brief time majoring in Fashion design. Leonard accepted Christ at an early age, but was baptized by his father-in-law. Leonard married Lonette Thornton on June 3rd, 1989 and was blessed with two children. He worked various jobs in the Flint and Brighton areas, but his favorite was at United Shirt in the Eastland Mall, where he was assistant manager, before they closed. Leonard enjoyed laughing and making others laugh, he loved his family and watching sports. He also enjoyed collecting comic books and action figures! Mr. Frank Leonard Henderson leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Lonette (Thornton) Henderson; daughter, Vanessa (LeShannon) Barnett; son, Leondre’ Henderson; granddaughter, Charlie Lynne Barnett; sisters, Priscilla Wright and Madonna Henderson; brother, Waynemon (Mae) Brown; parents-in-law, Elder John and Edra Thornton, brothers-in-law, Edward Thornton and Albert Thornton, sister-in-law, Lorrie Leonard; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends including special friends, (Stand in Parents) David and Jo Blake and Sammie and Rene Irving, Arthur and Beverly Jacks and his other wives (you all know who you are). The family of Leonard Henderson would like to especially thank The Hurley Hospital Vascular Center (Dr. Almaroof, Tina, and Brice), the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th floor nursing staffs of Hurley, Hurley DaVita Staff both locations, McLaren, Henry Ford Hospital, Ann Arbor ICU and 7th floor staff, and Drs’ Raffee, Webb, Raj, Osama, Lutz, Najjar, and Ward for their tireless care, The Shiloh Baptist Church Family and New Jerusalem FGBC Family. Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; special aunts, Idella Brown and Dot Jenkins; and many other family and friends.
