Mrs. Francis Dixon

DIXON, Mrs. Francis Age 94, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at funeral home 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Dixon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Francis Dixon was born February 29, 1922 in Gurdon, Arkansas, the daughter of Willis and Carolyn (Dixon) White. She graduated from Bell High School in Gurdon, AR. Francis was married to LeRoy Dixon. She moved from Chicago, IL to Flint, Michigan in 1970 with her mother, Carolyn White to help her daughter with her children. Francis was a midwife in the 40’s and owned her own restaurant business in Arkansas. Mother Dixon loved the Lord and trusted in him all her life. She listened to AM1420 and called in for prayer for her family often. Mother Dixon believed prayer changed things. She loved talking to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mother Dixon also loved catching the bus to go shopping and riding with her grands, and reading her bible. She enjoyed gathering any information to help with home remedies for healing. Mother Dixon was full of laughter and love. Mrs. Francis Dixon leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Ruby Jewel Campbell of Florissant, MO; step-son, Leon (Mellow Jean) Dixon; grandchildren, James Baytee, Ann, Joyce, Dorothy, Mary, Michael Beavers, Betty Jean and Jefferery Watkins, all of Flint, David E. Dixon, Johnny L., Bishop Dennis and Vivian Campbell, both of Missouri, Ruby and Darrol Austin of Las Vegas, NV, Mr. & Mrs. Roedell, Jr., Stacey, Ponch, Lasonia Campbell, all of Illinois, Shawanna Shaw, Darren, Pam, Kenny and Gary Craven, Sarah and David Corothers, all of California, Rosezetta and Gene Hodge, Jr., Marlene and Tommy Lassiter; great-grandchildren, Dongia, Davin Beavers, David Isom, Marcus Beavers, Ayanna, Mike Jr., Toyanna, Joynisha, Queenie, Marquita, Berry and Sherry, James and Jennifer Patrick, Mahogany, Jamisha, Jametria, George and Randy, a host of other great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; a host of cousins including, the Walker, Owens, Bynum, Mackey, Vaughan, Kennedy, Brunts, Hardeman, Eppinger, McDonald and Stafford families; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, the ladies of Court Street Commons, Carolyn Wells, Joyce, Daisy Moore and Charlene Smith, Billy Hines, and Mattie Lewis. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Dixon; daughters, Freddie Beavers, Mary Francis Craven and Sarah Campbell; great-granddaughter, Tiphanie Mayfield; father, Sam Collins.
