CLEAVES, Mrs. Frances - Age 66, became an honorable ancestor Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 6PM-8PM Monday, August 20, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd. Dr. Paul Musson officiating. Bishop Odis A. Floyd, Pastor. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Tuesday. Mrs. Cleaves will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Mrs. Frances Ellen Cleaves was born April 1, 1941 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Roscoe and Betty (Albernathy) Livingston. Frances attended Detroit Public Schools before moving to Flint, MI, in the early 1960's and continued her education at Mott Community College. She was an active member of Eternal Life Ministries. Frances was employed with General Motors and a member of UAW Local #659, retiring in 1995. Mrs. Frances Ellen Cleaves leaves to cherish her memories: 3 daughters, Monique (Sean) Byrd, Shelby Pope and Christina Adams; 4 sons, Keith Parris, Emery Pope, Ali and Mateen Cleaves; grandchildren, Antonio, Ali II and Khali Cleaves, Rahmad Dent, Emery Pope, Jr., Sean C. Byrd, Keera Byrd all of Flint and Shontarian Byrd of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Dorothy Barrett, Charlene Taylor both of Detroit, Anita Smylor, Claire McClinton and E. Hill Delony, all of Flint; brother, Richard Taylor of Detroit; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special nieces, Donele Wilkins, Autumn Dailey, Rolinda and Tracy Barrett, Deanna (Todd) Moss of Charlotte, NC, Kimberly(Walter) Chapple of Atlanta, GA, Christine (Bruce) Hawthorn and Sojourner (Jaman) Green; special nephews, Tony (Tonya) Barrett, Robert Boaz of Detroit, and Carlos Boaz of Flint. Mrs. Cleaves was preceded in death by her son, Herbert Cleaves; parents; brother, Charles Taylor; nephew, Tony Smylor. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren ICU staff, Eternal Life Ministries and New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church.
